ABC has renewed their popular Scandal TV show for a fifth season.
On Scandal, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) defends the public images of the most powerful people in Washington but now it’s her own image that needs protecting. This season, the cast also includes Tony Goldwyn, Bellamy Young, Scott Foley, Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Diaz, Jeff Perry, and Joshua Malina.
Last season, Scandal saw a big bump in the ratings. This time around, they just held steady, averaging a 2.94 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.33 million viewers. Still, that was a close second to the network’s biggest new drama How to Get Away with Murder with a 2.96 rating and 9.76 million.

My husband and I watched the first seasons1-3 and loved it. Quick pace, interesting story lines. Season four ended on a boring note and we stopped watching it. We recently saw it was on Netflix and thought, what’s happening? The answer, nothing! It has turned into a boring round-robin of “I love you, I hate you.” “Yes, no, yes, no”. It is now officially a soap opera. The only difference is that it’s on at night. After watching two episodes we clearly remembered why we stopped watching a year ago. Time to say adieu Scandal.

After being an avid fan of Scandal since season 1, I’m officially dropping the show and I would encourage you to do the same. The season 5 winter finale was disgusting…So we get it, Shonda, you’re an advocate for Planned Parenthood. I, on the other hand, don’t agree with the ongoing murder of unborn babies and the subsequent selling of the sweet little baby’s body parts. It’s MURDER. to see Mellie fade into the sunset…..have Liv move into the White House causing a
totally wild SCANDAL. Shonda can handle any problem…big or little. All of my friends
and I adore Scandal…..I have all four seasons DVD’s and we are wearing them out
watching so many of our most favorite moments……all of Liv and Fitz! Keep them
coming Shonda!!!

I know a million fans and myself are so very happy that Scandal is going to air its 5th Season in September! I love the whole sexy cast and praying no one has to die off next season. I can’t get enough Fitz and Olivia. LOL!! I wish a big fan like myself could get a chance to act on this amazing show as an extra….that would a a dream come true Shonda Rhimes. LOL!!

I would like to see Mellie get even with Fitz and Liz. Cyrus will get olivia out of jail to work with B-613. Gwen will shoot Huck and he dies. David will come to Gwen’s rescue. Jack will not die! So glad they’ll be back! I vote to return to the Season 1 style. Remember when people weren’t dying on every street corner and the scandals were more down to earth, political-style? Time to return. And keep Olivia/Fitz together.

I don’t believe BC kept this show and cancelled so many other shows which are far better!!!!!!!!!! Revenge, Forver, Resurrection, and Christela are all far better than this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You might not like Scandal but that doesn’t mean that everybody has you opinion. I’m really happy its coming back for 5th season because I love this show.. And about Revenge i think that Revenge really need to end because the story was kind of boring lately.
And I love looking at Kerry Washington, so I am glad this limited series will be back a 5th season.
