Star Trek is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and fans of the franchise are waiting for the release of Star Trek Beyond later this summer.
Will fans see William Shatner in the new film? There has been speculation and rumors about the possibility of the original Captain James T. Kirk appearing in the film in some way, but Shatner has now revealed in a new interview that he will not appear in Star Trek Beyond.
In fact, he said there was not even a conversation about the possibility. According to Blastr, he said more about the possibility to SFX Magazine:
“It would have been interesting to see what their fertile imaginations could have done with somebody who is 20 years older than when Captain Kirk died and how they would have explained the difference in appearance. But that never came up. I’m sure they must have thought of it one time or another but I never had a substantial conversation about replaying the role.”
William Shatner was last seen in Star Trek Generations. Would you have wanted to see the return of William Shatner to the franchise again? Tell us what you think.
Shatner not in it THANK GOD, THE TRINITY AND ALL THAT’S HOLY. He’s also had more than fair share of screen time throughiut the Star Trek franchise. No one should even give him the chance….his film direction….only the comedy was good and it came from the late actors Jackson De Forest Kelley and Leonard Nimoy. Give the “Shat” past tense of ‘s…t, the book.
Sure they could do it… Time Travel episode… Captain Kirk gets stranded on a planet for fifty years, grows old. As a result, the Federation is destroyed. Escapes from the planet, finds a method of time travel and goes back to prevent the disaster from happening. We then get William Shatner (old Kirk) telling Chris Pine (young Kirk) how to save the future. Cool! (NOTE: I hereby grant the studio permission to use this plot, if they should read this and think its a great idea for a future film!)
That could work
Did you even watch the first Star Trek (2009)?
William Shatner was the one that started it all made it what it was it would be nice to see him one last time
