The swamp is drying up. History has posted a new preview for the last season of their reality series, Swamp People.
Created in 2010, the reality series follows a group of Louisiana natives who hunt alligators in the Atchafalaya Swamp.
Earlier, we reported that History had cut several cast members from the seventh season of the series. Now, the network has posted on their Facebook page that season seven will be the final one for the reality show.

What do you think? Do you watch Swamp People? Do you think it should be cancelled?
Not a bunch of good shows on tv but swamp people is a great one you need to rethink this one!!
Its one of our favorite shows in its a real show about people who work hard n love their family’s n that is something the world needs
Well will no longer be watching anything on the History Channel. Ya’ll did not think this through! When you changed the music and the cast you messed up – but cancelling – is your worse move yet. Hope the Landry’s find a new channel for Swamp People!
I love this show and all my grandkids love it. Please don’t cancel!
You know, this brings to mind the big screw up involving Dual Survival. Change the cast, lose the ratings.
I think cancelling Swamp People is a shame! The show has a huge following. I am very disappointed that Junior and Teresa Edwards are not on the show this year. Also, Willie has not been featured very much. Troy Landry has always been my favorite, but I like most of the other cast members also. The show is a great change from most of the garbage that is on TV. Sometimes you just have to wonder, who makes these decisions. Bad, bad move History Channel.
Hey perhaps Willie and the Commanders will get it on A&E.
It is very sad that this show is over. It was a great show, real people and they live a way of life we as a society has given up on…looking out for our fellow man. I know all kinds of people hated the show for the harvesting of the gators , but they have no problem going to a restaurant and ordering a steak. This is not a sport. This is a way of life. Has been and always will be. If you felt uncomfortable with the show. Then change the channel
I LOVE SWAMP PEOPLE I hate thinking there won’t be another …it hurts to say goodbye to them ….please reconsider
Well it has been nice history channell . I will miss swamp people and you will miss your ratings.
Well all I can say is BIG MISTAKE HISTORY CHANNEL, It was bad enough that you cut some of the Original crew and brought in undesirable news ones. I have been a fan of this show for 7 series but after tonight I have washed my hands of the History Channel.
I am very upset about the cancelling of Swamp People! This is family favorite. It is as bad enough that Liz and her family were cut from the show this year. Now the whole show. I am so disappointed and so are my family and friends!
I think the History channel executives are idiots for not keeping swamp people, because it shows morality and FAMILY bonds and faith in GOD and it shows how far our society has fallen. I have been a fan of the history channel for over 10 years and I think it is time to stop watch the history channel.
I wholeheartedly agree with the others who will be boycotting the history channel upon the final episode of swamp people. I will be done with the history channel. Clearly this is being done as swamp people is a real show about real, down to earth people. The strong moral character of the Landry’s is not acceptable in today’s age of liberal, progressive TRASH programming. Liberal Hollywood weenies probably wet themselves every time a alligator is harvested.
I’m sorry to see the show being canceled. It’s one f my favorites. They all are genuinely good people. It’s a pleasure and fun to watch.
