Emma and Charles won’t get to continue to work things out during the 2023-24 broadcast season. ABC has cancelled The Company You Keep, so that it won’t return for a second season.
A drama series, The Company You Keep TV show stars Milo Ventimiglia, Catherine Haena Kim, William Fichtner, Tim Chiou, Freda Foh Shen, James Saito, Sarah Wayne Callies, Felisha Terrell, and Polly Draper. Sachin Bhatt recurs. In the story, Charlie Nicoletti (Ventimiglia) is a masterful high-stakes con man who commits crimes with his family. He also runs a bar with his bossy older sister, Birdie (Calles). Their con parents are former steelworker Leo (Fichtner) and his wife, Fran (Draper). Meanwhile, Emma Hill (Kim) is an undercover CIA officer. Her father, Joseph Hill (Saito), is the patriarch of a political dynasty and is married to Grace (Shen). Emma’s brother, David (Chiou), is an incumbent Senator running for re-election. Charlie and Emma meet and a night of passion leads to love between two people who are unknowingly on a collision course professionally. While Charlie ramps up the “family business” so he can get out for good, Emma’s closing in on the vengeful criminal who holds Charlie’s family debts in hand — forcing them to reckon with the lies they’ve told so they can save themselves and their families from disastrous consequences.
Airing on Sunday nights, the first season of The Company You Keep averages a 0.25 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.23 million viewers. It was one of ABC’s lowest-rated scripted series in the demo and total viewers compared to other shows on the network.
The show added 70% more viewers in the live+7 day ratings, but that was not good enough to secure a second-season renewal.
The first season of 1o episodes finished airing last Sunday night.

ABC hasn’t given this show a chance. Bring it back for another season. This show is great.
I’m so bummed. I was hoping it would be renewed. It was a great show with a great cast. Sometimes they shouldn’t be so quick to cancel !
This show deserves a second year. Bring it back
I’m sorry the decision is to cancel this show. Although the twists and turns were a little complicated, the characters really started to grow on me. Network did not give it enough of a chance.
So wack I really liked that show a lot. ABC what is wrong with you’ll. That show was the best. I really was looking forward for that show every Sunday night at 10 to watch.
The company You Keep was a really good show! I was looking forward to its return! I feel like it wasn’t given a chance! Disappointing ABC!!!
They promoted this constantly, then do a quick 10 episode season and cancel. I like the show, and it doesn’t seem ABC even gave it a chance.
ABC is making a big mistake! Hopefully another network will seize the opportunity to pick up the show, moving it onto their lineup!
I think this show might have made it as a family drama with Charlie’s very interesting family and the bar they own.
The CIA, con games and politics were overdone.
I am so disappointed. The Company You Keep is one of the few shows I look forward to. It’s different than all the other boring shows. I really hope they reconsider or some other network picks this up. No wonder I don’t watch much ABC – they cancel their good shows.
I am very very disappointed The Company You Keep wasn’t renewed for a second season! At least give it ONE more season before you cancel, ABC! Disgusted with your decision. You could have tried moving the night for a 2nd season instead of cancelling outright. I hope another more visionary network picks it up because this is a HUGE FAIL on your part, ABC!

I Loved this show. One of the best new shows that came out this past fall. Maybe if it had been viewed on a different night there would have been more viewers. So disappointed!!!
