Emma and Charles won’t get to continue to work things out during the 2023-24 broadcast season. ABC has cancelled The Company You Keep, so that it won’t return for a second season.
A drama series, The Company You Keep TV show stars Milo Ventimiglia, Catherine Haena Kim, William Fichtner, Tim Chiou, Freda Foh Shen, James Saito, Sarah Wayne Callies, Felisha Terrell, and Polly Draper. Sachin Bhatt recurs. In the story, Charlie Nicoletti (Ventimiglia) is a masterful high-stakes con man who commits crimes with his family. He also runs a bar with his bossy older sister, Birdie (Calles). Their con parents are former steelworker Leo (Fichtner) and his wife, Fran (Draper). Meanwhile, Emma Hill (Kim) is an undercover CIA officer. Her father, Joseph Hill (Saito), is the patriarch of a political dynasty and is married to Grace (Shen). Emma’s brother, David (Chiou), is an incumbent Senator running for re-election. Charlie and Emma meet and a night of passion leads to love between two people who are unknowingly on a collision course professionally. While Charlie ramps up the “family business” so he can get out for good, Emma’s closing in on the vengeful criminal who holds Charlie’s family debts in hand — forcing them to reckon with the lies they’ve told so they can save themselves and their families from disastrous consequences.
Airing on Sunday nights, the first season of The Company You Keep averages a 0.25 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.23 million viewers. It was one of ABC’s lowest-rated scripted series in the demo and total viewers compared to other shows on the network.
The show added 70% more viewers in the live+7 day ratings, but that was not good enough to secure a second-season renewal.
The first season of 1o episodes finished airing last Sunday night.

The show was very worthwhile they should have kept it a very diverse cast I thought for sure they were going to include a second season wonderful writing and great acting sorry to see it go they didn’t give it enough time

This was one of the very few shows I loved. People in Hollywood don’t seem to have good taste anymore regarding most of the crap on TV these days. When there are good shows they cancel them. Loved “The Company You Keep”
You got to be kidding me. This had a great potential and I was looking forward on watching the upcoming seasons. I am disappointed to find out it was canceled, even more when there are other shows which don’t come up to the level of this one, yet are still running. Ratings, huh…Well too bad ABC, too bad.
Seriously what gives first Alaska daily now this why bother watching anything if your only ever going to air one season! Actually pissed off now
My thoughts exactly! I loved Alaska Daily as well and can’t believe they cancelled it. I can’t believe the 2 new shows on ABC I got hooked on are not returning. I wish one of the streaming services would pick either of them up, but probably not going to happen.
I’m so disappointed it is cancelled!! The action & unexpected “what’s next” kept me guessing. The chemistry between the cast was spot on. I did have a hard time watching it being on Sunday night. Hope another channel picks it up for a night other than Sunday!
What a huge disappointment to have this cancelled! It was a fabulous cast and great storyline. Not sure what is going on at ABC but I hope another network picks it up. I am so completely bummed!
I got to see a little of episode 1 and another it seems that it didn’t have a specific schedule and this is why people drift off because we know they made up there mind and what the ratings to balance the decision! I wish they would do away with the faulty rating system! So the show never took off!
Please give this series a second season it is so worth it
SO SAD! This was a very exciting and interesting show!! Give them the benefit of the doubt and a 2nd season.! You guys…How many great shows have had low ratings the 1st year? It takes time to develop a following. Star Trek comes to mind.
What the heck is going on at ABC? They are on a chop fest. This show has a lot going for it. 10 episodes aren’t enough for a lot of people to get a feel for the people and their stories. I liked them, and the chemistry between Milo and Kim was great. Maybe the plot was too hard for a lot of people to grasp hold of. Hopefully another network will see the potential in keeping it alive.
The Company You Keep was a rarity. It was one of only two shows that I watched. The whole show was fabulous! I am soooo disappointed to hear it has been cancelled. I was spreading the word about the show and many of my friends started to pick it up. The chemistry was spot on. Really a bad decision to stop the show.
Very upset about this show being cancelled. The actors and the plot were very engaging and different from most other shows.
This was a very good series. Excellent plot lines and great chemistry between the leading actors. Perhaps this series would have found a footing in another time period. Sorry the series was cancelled.
