Last week, ABC aired the first original installment of The Whole Truth in five weeks, since October 27th. The ratings-challenged show was bumped from the November sweeps schedule and cancelled in late October.
The Whole Truth’s ratings were anything but positive last Wednesday with it ranking a distant third place in the timeslot. Opposite Law & Order: Los Angeles and The Grammy Nomination Concert special, the legal drama attracted just a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.65 million viewers. That represents a new series low for the Rob Morrow/Maura Tierney drama.
ABC had intended to burn off at least four more episodes throughout the month of December but this poor showing has convinced the programmers to change their plans. The Whole Truth has been pulled from the schedule and replaced with repeats for the immediate future.
On December 8th, Modern Family and Cougar Town repeats will fill the slot. On December 15th and 29th, Cougar Town encores will take over. And, on December 22nd, ABC will rebroadcast the CMA Country Christmas special. It’s unclear what will air on January 5th but a new drama, Off the Map, will debut on January 12th.
There are seven unaired episodes of The Whole Truth left on the shelf. It’s unclear when or if ABC will decide to air them at some point in the future.
What do you think? Will ABC get around to airing the rest of The Whole Truth episodes? During the summer, released online, or never?

Really like this show. Even Star Trek would have gotten cancelled with this treatment. Give it chance already !!!
Yes, definately air the remaining episodes but on a different night. It’s a great show and I wish they would give it more of a chance!
Again-I don’t understand why they just don’t schedule this great show at another time slot.
This is a good courtroom drama show and such a shame that it has to be dropped. Maybe , maybe TNT could pick it up with Law and Order ? Am still getting over L&O being dropped!!
Too bad…enjoyed it…was fun to guess if the litigant was guilty or not. The problem is the writers weren’t subtile enough in exposing “The Whole Truth” at the end…..it easily could have been done much better. Just remember the end of “Basic Instinct” when Sharon Stone pulled out that knife….that’s the way to let the audience know who really did it not just sit around and talk about it!
Too bad, it is a good show! If it hadn’t been for my DVR I would have missed last weeks showing, they never let you know when it would be on.
If a network dosent support it’s own show it will not make it……….
I watched THE WHOLE TRUTH for the first time last week and totally enjoyed it. When I started programming my DVR I couldn’t find it. Disappointedly, I will in no way watch Cougar or Modern Family. I have already reveiwed those and do not find them to be my fit. Dumb move…..
“The Whole Truth” is one of the best shows this season. Please put it back on!
I really enjoy the show. Perhpas it needs a different time slot. The show is very well written.
They really should have moved it to another time slot. Jim Belushi in a similar show is going to win every time. Sad, I really enjoyed this show!
NBC should pick it up.
whats the point in watching tv anymore. over half the shows I watched this year wont be back next year. every year its gets worse and it sucks. frankly I have lost all hope for tv.
They should air the remaining shows. They’ve already paid for them, and there are some funs, myself included. If they don’t want to take up prime time, how about some 3AM slots so we can at least DVR them? What has the network got to lose??
What did they expect? They didnt promote the fact that it was coming back last week and on top of that I could not find The Whole Truth on my DVR as recently as a week before it aired.
@Ari Right?? How on EARTH did they think ratings would be any good, if not even the FANS of this show knew it was on??? Lame.
Since the ratings are so low, I think ABC should put the seven unaired episodes online; however I think the reality will be that they will not be available to watch at all.
Wow thats a big f**king bummer. Hopefully they’ll air them sometime. Most likely in the summer. Very very hard to say why the show didn’t catch on honestly. Maybe it was envitable, I mean it was against two other court shows. So of course that spawns this question: Why not put it on another night? I mean really? Why not??
