The When Calls the Heart TV series has been the highest-rated scripted series on Hallmark Channel for quite a while. However, the show is now in its ninth season and nothing can last forever. A romantic drama series, the When Calls the Heart TV show stars Erin Krakow, Jack Wagner, Kevin McGarry, Chris McNally, Andrea Brooks, Kavan Smith, Pascale Hutton, Ben Rosenbaum, Johannah Newmarch, Martin Cummins, Kayla Wallace, Viv Leacock, Natasha Burnett, Vienna Leacock, Elias Leacock, Hrothgar Mathews, Loretta Walsh, and Amanda Wong. Inspired by the Janette Oke novel, the TV series follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Krakow), a young teacher from a high society background. She’s assigned to teach in a coal country classroom and it’s a life-changing experience. Now a widow and single mother, Elizabeth faces new challenges but enters into a new relationship with mysterious gambler Lucas Bouchard (McNally). In season nine, Hope Valley is in a state of growth, with the foundry’s progress and the evolution of key relationships. The Mayoral race has the town buzzing with a few members of the town running against one another. Elizabeth and Lucas focus on their relationship beyond courtship, and as she gets to know Lucas better, she learns about his past which gives Elizabeth pause about their future.

I find season 9 to be boring, Elizabeth and Lucas have no chemistry— it’s too predictable, and the storyline of Lee and Rosemary is bland-where are the ups and downs— some real life experiences- it’s just them telling each other how they adore each other ( that’s nice) but…. Nathan is not utilized — it’s a story about a Montie – and he has been pushed to a secondary role; —behind the Lucas storyline. Will WCTH season 10 be the final season? I noticed that the key demo 18-49 is down. Wondering if this was the Nathan Fans? Hallmark are you working to fix this? It would be a shame for all of the actors/actresses to lose their job.
I love the show, I want it to continue for at least 2 more seasons. I love the couple Lucas and Elizabeth. I think the first 2 episodes focused very little on their relationship. We left with a very high note in S8 and it wasn’t on the same note in S9E1.
I love When Calls the Heart! Please don’t cancel! Lori Loughlin needs to be back on , she was the heart of the show! I’ve been watching ever since 1st season and it’s just not the same without her. I Now watch the old seasons on hallmark movies now with the paid subscription just so I can watch the episodes with Lori Loughlin ( Abigail) I love them all but the show is truly missing something without her. Loved this show. Beautiful love story of Jack & Elizabeth to a soap opera. Acting now is weak & writing is lackluster. I used to plan my schedule around the show. Now, not so much. It’s a yawner.
Sorry but 2021 woke values in a early 1920 period show do not work. At this point I feel sorry for the majority of cast and crew but hope this is the last season for what used to be a great show.
I think it’s shameful what the writers did in season 8. I don’t intend to watch season 9. Not because it didnt go my way, but because it doesnt follow the original story. They can say they’ve already done that, but being married for a week doesnt constitute having already done that. Lots of good stories between the mountie and the teacher have been passed aside. You can count me out. Not sure why I’m even posting this, I’m sure it will be overlooked and not shown….

I haven’t watched it at all this season. Last season I was excited to watch. I see the preview quite a lot on hallmark (yawning) who cares! I know they didn’t count on loosing so many viewers this season but now they know.

I also think that if something were to happento Lucas and if she happens to find out that Jack is not dead then I think that they bring back and have her and first husband Jack back together again. I wish that you could go back and show seasons 1 through 6 again I have never got to watch or seen seasons 1 through 6 when she had met Jack and her and her husband Jack ended up together before he had died.
Will never happen. Just enjoy the chemistry with Lucas and Elizabeth .Jack is a fond memory

I love Lucas and Elizabeth together I think that they both make a beautiful couple together. They both are of the same class they share the same interest I think that Lucas would a wonderful Step father for little Jack. Lucas is great for Elizabeth he challenges her and encourages her to do things she seems happy when she is with Lucas and they both are always smiling when they are together.

I wish Hallmark would show this series from the beginning. We didn’t have Hallmark for the beginning years & I’d love to see it all.

Do not cancel When Calls the Heart, it is a wonderful show and such a beautiful story line ❤️ I love Erin in anything that she does and she deserves this show
