Though the 90210 series hasn’t been delivering the big ratings that CW network execs were hoping for, the network isn’t ready to throw in the towel just yet. They’ve given the go-ahead to create more episodes, upping their episode order from 13 to a full season of 22.
The two-hour premiere of 90210 garnered the highest ratings in the CW network’s short history, attracting almost five million people. The following week saw the viewership erode to 3.3 million. The third week stayed about the same while the desirable demographic numbers rose just a bit.
CW’s entertainment president Dawn Ostroff has a positive spin, saying, “The successful addition of 90210 has taken The CW another step forward in building a cohesive schedule that defines this network as a destination for young women with shows that get our audience talking – and watching. We’re very excited about the chance to watch this ensemble of newcomers and familiar faces coalesce and grow together as we move forward.”
Does the additional episode order mean more appearances by Beverly Hills, 90210 castmembers? While Luke Perry maintains that he won’t be returning to the role of Dylan, Jennie Garth seems to be enjoying her work so Kelly is likely to remain a regular fixture at West Beverly High.
Shannen Doherty only signed on for four episodes initially but the door is open for more. Brian Austin Green says that he’s open to an appearance but that his schedule is pretty full because of his work on FOX’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It seems likely that Green is just being diplomatic and isn’t really interested in taking part in the spin-off.
Meanwhile, Tori Spelling says that she’s seen the new 90210 and likes it. Her character was mentioned in a recent episode and we learned that Donna has a son. Spelling is still open to appearing on the show but isn’t pursuing it. She says that she’s a big believer in “whatever happens, will happen.” Now that the producers have a full 22 episodes to fill, it seems likely that she’ll be receiving a phone call from them some time soon. Stay tuned!

For 90210 How many Episodes will be on Season 3
I actually would like to see Brandon or Steve (my two favorite characters) and find out if Steve has grown up any, lol.
