The Killing: Does the AMC Series Deserve a Fourth Season?

The Killing season 3: cancel or renew? The Killing will be wrapping up its third season in the next few weeks. Should the crime drama come back for a fourth season or should it be cancelled (again)?

Last year, after The Killing’s ratings fell in season two, AMC cancelled the show. Thanks to a special deal between Fox TV, AMC, and Netflix, the drama was revived and brought back for a third season.

Though many people were glad to hear that The Killing was coming back, the ratings have been virtually the same as they were in season two (which ultimately resulted in the series being cancelled).

The show hasn’t been renewed yet and, based on the revival deal, it seems like things could go either way.

But, what do you think? Is The Killing still worth watching? Should it be renewed for a fourth season or is it time to cancel it and make way for something new?

Yes. Best thing on TV (Whether people know it or not). AMC should renew it. And everyone involved deserves awards for this season.

Yes, please bring it back. Love the characters. My son, too, in Washington State loves this show. I love it and record it every week.

Definitely should be a 4th series, I think this is better than its Scandinavian parent, the chemistry between the major characters is fantastic.

The best written and acted show on television. It’s the strongest of the AMC lineup. I say RENEW!!!! We want more.

“The Killing” is one of the most well-written, well-acted television shows I’ve ever seen. “Southland” was just as good. It’s a shame the ratings aren’t strong, but that’s not surprising in today’s media world. The season-long story angle allows for some brilliant writing, but sadly the vast majority don’t have the attention span anymore to take it all in. An episode of CSI typically wraps up everything in an hour, and you don’t necessarily need any back story. Something like Jersey Shore doesn’t even need brain cells.

I would like the series to continue. This season has been solid and the two main characters are fantastic. The subject matter is intense and dark, but I feel the writing and the progression of the main storyline has been riveting and on-point. The “Bullet” character has been a positive contribution this season. The acting from the leads is top-notch. I especially enjoy Joel. He is an actor who makes you want to tune in each week.

Really love this show! Hope it’s renewed. This season is moving right along and really keeps us guessing. So much better than what’s on regular TV. AMC rocks!

The Killing has dropped two notches this third season and seemingly has no direction. As with most mini-series plots it has long outlasted its welcome. TIME TO PULL THE PLUG!
