The battle is over at Paramount Network. The cable channel has cancelled the 68 Whiskey TV series so, there won’t be a second season.
A comedy-drama series, 68 Whiskey follows a multicultural band of Army medics stationed in Afghanistan on a base nicknamed “The Orphanage.” Together, the medics navigate a dangerous and sometimes absurd world, relying on comradery, various vices, and, occasionally, a profound sense of purpose to carry them through. The cast includes Sam Keeley, Jeremy Tardy, Gage Golightly, Cristina Rodlo, Beth Riesgraf, Lamont Thompson, Nicholas Coombe, and Derek Theler, with Usman Ally, Lamont Thompson, Artur Benson, and Aaron Glenane in recurring roles.
The first season of 68 Whiskey averaged a 0.10 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 499,000 viewers. Paramount Network has few original scripted series so it’s difficult to tell what is considered a success. The recently wrapped third season of Yellowstone averaged a 0.75 demo rating with 3.91 million viewers. Meanwhile, other series have drawn numbers that are closer to 69 Whiskey’s. Paramount does have a new series, Coyote starring Michael Chiklis, in the pipeline.
What do you think? Did you watch the first season of the 68 Whiskey TV series? Would you have watched season two on Paramount Network?
I really want this show to return. My husband and I really enjoyed watching it every week
I loved that show. Please bring it back.
Definitely would watch. Great mix of humor and adventure. Well acted. Maybe bad time slot. Should have been picked up for season two by Netflix, Prime, Peacock, etc.
Yes, I would have watched. I really enjoyed the show. Seems they always cancel a good show before giving it a second season and re check the ratings.
Yes, I would of watched Season 2!
Really liked the first season and was looking forward to season 2.
what a shame three shows I thought were very life like and great that got cancelled not 68 whisky the modern day Mash and the series on FOX called Deputy NBC bone Collector such a shame the best new shows got cancelled and I am a gigantic fan of Yellow stone and the new shows without star power attached to the shows are getting cancelled even thou are outstanding shows
I enjoyed 69 whiskey. For one thing it is real. I know one oerson who was in the group. For the most part everthing was real.
Me and my wife really enjoyed the show. We were really looking forward to season 2.
Paramount, shame on you. I really enjoyed season 1 of 68 Whiskey. I am also enjoying Yellowstone. You threaten to cancel Yellowstone, and now you cancel 68 Whiskey. I see that you are working an a new series (Coyote). I am not sure that I want to invest my time with Coyote because you probably don’t plan on continuing it past the first season. Your track record with these wonderfully entertaining shows is terrible. If you want to attract the young sheeple try some of the terrible reality shows that seems to attract them.
I really liked 68 Whiskey. I don’t understand why they cancel the good ones.
Yes, I would have watched season 2. I enjoyed the show
Yes I would have watched season 2 of 68 Whiskey and was hoping it would not get canceled. But the real reason is this stupid Covid19 virus screwed everything up!
I can’t believe that 68 Whiskey is canceled. Figures when you find a show you like the network executives will have their heads up their butt and cancel it. It was the modern day MASH
You cannot compare the old vintage mash to this garbage. There’s a big difference original series was done in a very tasteful way this copy was a total Who’s Who into the directed and wrote this piece of garbage.
Truly enjoyed the show. The cast worked as an onsumble so well. It had that feel for the current military life. So sorry that they cancelled it:(
What a horrible mistake! I was so excited for Season 2. There wasn’t enough marketing or advertisement for it. But because it was on Paramount, I gave it a try and got sucked in! Now you say that’s it. Very, very disappointed!
