Is American Idol coming back? Deadline reports a revival of the cancelled FOX TV series may end up at NBC.
Created by Simon Fuller, the long-running singing competition show aired its series finale on FOX this past spring. The show ran for 15 seasons and included judges like Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr., Keith Urban, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Simon Cowell.
According to Deadline, there have been talks with NBC about an American Idol revival. This would mean the two top-rated singing competition series — The Voice and American Idol — would be on the same network. NBC has not confirmed the news, but the network does have a major deal with former Idol judge Simon Cowell, who is currently a judge on America’s Got Talent.
What do you think? Are you a fan of American Idol? Would you watch a reboot on NBC?
All right, I won’t bother to watch the return of American Idol on NBC, anyway. But I’ll still watch the return of The X Factor if it ever comes back. Because I prefer The X Factor over American Idol.
This is proof imagination is dead at the networks. Let this sleeping dog of a show rest in piece. It may have had relevance in its first year, but it decayed into a heap of a mess rather quickly.
the future of music competition reality shows are done even the voice is slowly dying american idol wont work
If American Idol gets revived by NBC, I would definitely watch it and see if it’s good. What about The X Factor? Doesn’t it deserve to be revived, as well? Because I think it does. Which channel would The X Factor end up at? CBS? ABC? Definitely not NBC, because there wouldn’t be enough room with American Idol, America’s Got Talent and The Voice. Or does Fox still own the rights? Maybe Fox could bring The X Factor back for a fourth season soon.
Stop giving me thumbs down!
I said, stop giving me thumbs down.
I’m warning you. No more thumbs down for me.
Hello. It is now 2020 and NBC was not intrested in “Idol.” That show just got picked up by ABC as of 2018.
“How can we miss you if you won’t go away?” :/
Absolutely not, let garbage go, no more singing or dancing competitive shows. Let It Go.
