(Los Angeles) – In the 1960s, the “Original 7″ astronauts were both rock stars and daredevils. With movie star looks and a penchant for sports cars, Gordon Cooper was the youngest and the flashiest of the bunch. As a space pioneer, he first took orbit in Mercury-Atlas 9, setting a record that still holds today for the longest solo space flight in US history. During one of his key missions, while Cooper claimed to be scouring the globe for nuclear sites, he actually discovered something else: shipwrecks. Working for decades in secret, using the information he collected while orbiting the Earth, Cooper created a document that he thought could lead to unimaginable wealth – a treasure map from space. Uncover the truth – and the treasure – when COOPER’S TREASURE premieres on Discovery Tuesday, April 18th at 10pm ET/PT.
Before passing away, Cooper shared his secret with long-time friend Darrell Miklos with the hope that his exploration would continue and the treasure would ultimately be found. Miklos is now setting out on a personal quest to fulfill the legacy of his lost mentor, once and for all realizing Cooper’s long-held dream and proving to the world that the mysterious documents hold the key for a new generation of explorers.

What do you think? Do you watch Discovery Channel? Will you tune in to Cooper’s Treasure?
Amazing show loved the twist and turns of the stories of the Countries involved and the people. So much better to spend time watching something that is educational and fun and not down beat.
This was a most interesting show. Loved the history of Gordon Cooper and the hunters. Hope to see more. The history of the lives and countries and the ships alone is amazing.
I certainly hope that Discovery Channel brings back this program. I only saw 2 or 3 of the original episodes and they were fantastic!
Dear god please bring back Coopers Treasure!!! I have many friends who dive and friends who just love this ser also. Absolutely the best program on television in years!!!
Love it! Keep it coming. Much more refreshing than the current regular prime time garbage!!
Anxious for viewer reaction to the show. I personally think it will be very appealing to anyone interested in space or ocean discovery activity.
Living in Florida I am always intrigued by stories of lost treasure. And since I’m a history buff this show will be on my list to record and watch.
I’ve got a REAL ba-a-a-a-ad feeling about this. Cooper was an interesting character, and had a great early astronaut career, but he washed out of the Apollo program, and most of the stories he told after leaving NASA, he just made up from his imagination. After NASA he descended into fantasy and delusion, got ostracized by the aerospace community for naively promoting a series of con artist’s investments that cost his colleagues millions of dollars, while getting his on-TV-adulation fix by weaving a series of UFO tales that all other alleged witnesses denounced as imaginary.
I loved your series Yes I would watch Cooper’s Teasure
