It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

Yes, I agree with the lack of promotion on ABCs part. Eatwick was never promoted. How can ABC expect a show to take off without promo’s?!! I love this show and would like to see more of it. A co-worker of mine hadn’t heard of Eastwick until I told her about it. Word of mouth only works well for some things, but not tv shows. Please ABC, at least air the last episode. However, I don’t know how you would possibly wrap up in one episode what the 12th episode left hanging.
I LOVED the show! I was so mad when I didnt see it on for the past two weeks and I was wondering if it had been cancelled or not. I’m so sad! I miss those girls on Eastwick. I would love for them to bring it back. I also agree with Nikki when she said that there wasn’t that much advertisment for this show. I think they should kick off all those stupid useless reality shows and keep the better shows like this one!
Eastwick was the best new series on ABC, and on network TV in general for that matter, since “LOST” and “Desperate Housewives” burst on the scene in 2004. So, of course, ABC in its infinite wisdom cancelled it before it even had a chance to get off the ground. This reminds me of another great show ABC produced many years ago, called “Homefront”. It was excellent, so of course, they promptly cancelled it. Why ABC has a habit of cancelling outstanding series, yet keeping utter trash such as “Wipeout” and “Cougartown” on is beyond my understanding. I am very bummed… Read more »
Again……..another good show cancelled……..doesn’t matter what I say, you’ll cancel it any way.
i for one am extremely upset that they are canceling this show. i am not one to actually watch tv series. i may like the shows, but i always forgot the day and time that they were on. this is one that i remembered, every week, on the hour. i have to agree with nikki here. there was NO promotion for the show. if there would have been the ratings would have been 20x better. the people that i know that watch it .. I liked this show but there just wasn’t enough promotion for it. If ABC had promoted this series like they do for every other series they have, it wouldn’t be canceled. That’s my opinion on this whole thing. I see promos for Desperate Housewives (Have been since the beginning of the show), all a hundred seasons of the Bachelor and the Bachelorette, Ugly Betty, etc. I’m sure the if Eastwick had had that kind of promotion for the series, it would have reached a bigger fan base and would have been successful. I love Eastwick and am throughly disappointed that ABC is thinking of or has already cancelled it. It was there best show on air.
I look forward to watching this show every week. I am so disappointed that yet again another good show has been canceled. Why ask between the ages of 18-49. Honestley my mom is 49 she does not show any interest in the show. Ask between the ages of 15- 35. Your response would have been much greater and held. I hope ABC or any other network deems this show worth while to pick up again.

I love Eastwick. It has eveything. Comedy, suspense, romance. Its one of my favorite tv shows. Please don’t cancel it. If you do, me and my friends won’t have anything to talk about thursday morning.

Please don’t cancel Eastwick! It’s one of the coolest shows on ABC! I can’t believe Cougartown hasn’t been canceled! Talk about a “no brainer” . The humor is lame and so are the actors! And Ugly Betty is continuing yet another season??! Go Figure….I think who ever decided Eastwick needed to go…they are the ones that need to go.
