God Friended Me was recently cancelled by CBS, and now the cast is reacting to the move by the network. Brandon Michael Hall, Violett Beane and others on the cast spoke about the series ending on social media.
Per TV Line, Hall revealed the following about the cancellation of God Friended Me:
“There’s something to be said for an artist to be able to wake up every single day and work with a group of people who you can honestly call your family. The hardest thing is knowing I’m not going to be able to… work with them [every day].”

What do you think? Were you upset by the cancellation of God Friended Me?
So sad a wholesome show was cancelled. Now if the show had nudity, coarse language or violence I’m sure it would not have been cancelled
I am very upset about the cancellation. With all that’s going on in the world right now, it was a show about hope. Such a good show.
I am sad finally a great show and the up and cancel I guess not enough blood and guys for them
Really CBS? What a shame. Well, guess we finally know who was behind the God account, CBS.
You have no idea how upset my entire family is. We all sit on Sunday night to watch. It is one of a very few shows we can do that. I was so shocked when I read about it. I thought at first it must be someone joking because it couldn’t possibly be cancelled. Please, please reconsider your decision. We feel that someone made a very bad decision and it is not too late to rectify it. Please!!
Please bring this show back!! I’m a big fan of the actors and plots of the episodes. The episodes always left me feeling good – a great way to end my weekend. I agree with Dorene – one of the few shows today without violence, or snarky characters.
One of the few shows that I find to be entertaining and enlightening. The whole concept is unique and will be missed. Faith-based entertainment is rare, and this one a gem. Maybe someone else will be able to pick it up? I would continue to watch elsewhere, even on a small faith-based network.
I GUESS IT ISNT TRASHY ENOUGH TO STAY ON AIR!!! THEY ARE UNREAL .
Sorry to read they are canceling this show, my show, as my husband says before each episode on Sunday evening. This IS A GOOD SHOW! Mustake CBS
I am saddened that this wonderful show is being cancelled.
It is one of the few shows that I watch on TV.
I watch it because it still shows compassion, kindness, and a belief in helping each other.
If it is going off the air because it has a basis that God works in people’s lives, that is even worse.
Why take something so positive off the air?
Yes I am! I really enjoyed the show, I don’t understand why it is being canceled. It seems like anything to do with God is being canceled.
Upset doesn’t come close to what I feel!
Saddened and disgusted is more like it! Give these talented actors..and show another chance! Different night? Different time? Too few faith-based shows on TV as it is! Wise up! The world needs more “uniquely kind entertainment!
Yes, I am very disappointed in the decision to cancel this show. Probably made by people who don’t even watch it.
This is such a disappointment. I can’t think of a single show I have seen from television in the last 20 years that could send such a heartwarming message each and every episode. The characters were believable in their efforts to try and genuinely help people. We are in a time in our world where almost everyone leads a selfish life in many ways. Watching these kids self sacrifice to find a deeper meaning to life has been inspiring. A TV show with a different approach, one that kept you in your seat because you wanted to be able to… Read more »
It’s a really good and inspiring show, especially during this time when we need God so desperately to heal our land! It’s a message of hope the show gives.
