The Goldbergs may soon have a spin-off. The creator of the comedy revealed more about the potential series at the TCA’s earlier this week. The series, which has no title yet, was handed into the network this week. Bryan Callen from the original series will play a major role in the 90s spin-off.
Per Deadline, Adam F. Goldberg said the following about the 90s spin-off for ABC:
“It’s set a decade later, and Adam (Sean Giambrone) will have graduated. The side characters have become really strong, and I don’t want to rob my show of all the great characters, so we’re slowly unveiling new characters. The show is told from the point of the view of the teachers, and one of the teachers has kids in the school I’ve gotten to know my teachers because I’ve had to go to them to get their signoff to be on the show. Every teacher on the show is based on a real teacher — (Callen’s) Mellor, the character Tim Meadows plays and the drama teacher.”
The spin-off will use the same school set featured on The Goldbergs. Would you check out a spin-off from the comedy set in the 90s? Tell us what you think.
Such an awesome show! My kiddos and myself look forward to watching it weekly. I grew up in the 80’s. It is so much fun to go back. The clothes, music, ect!!!!! FUN!!!!!

There could even be a tug of war live interest with the Erica character and Adam… that “Will he ever get the girl?” that keeps people coming… Read more »
