Hannibal was cancelled earlier this year after three seasons on NBC. There will not be a fourth season of the series, but loyal fans are still fighting for one – and the fans have no problems showing their love for the series still.
A pair of Hannibal fans are showing their love for the series by releasing a new 200-page anthology of artwork and more involving the fandom. A Kickstarter campaign helped the anthology reach its $16,000 goal to publish the anthology.
RAW, which has been heavily promoted on Tumblr, is paying the 50 writers and artists involved only with copies of the book.
Aimee Fleck, the organizer of the anthology project, said the following about the work to The Daily Dot:
“I’ve always been interested in the intersection of publishing and fandom. But I think the idea of doing a serious anthology solidified for me at the launch for [Captain America fanzine] BROOKLYN last year—one of the attendees, Deb Walsh, brought her phenomenal collection of classic fandom zines, including some of the very first Star Trek ones. I was blown away!”
The Kickstarter campaign will end on December 1. At this time, the campaign has raised more than $50,000.
Were you a fan of Hannibal? Will you think about picking up your own copy of RAW? Tell us what you think.
Why can we never keep the good shows? Why does NBC always cancel the shows that are unique and refreshing and crazy good?! Are they that stupid at NBC not to recognize a stunning show that had my attention every single week? Meh. I’m beginning to really hate NBC. They jerk us around, get us hooked and then take the shows away. Forever anyone? I’m putting NBC on notice. If they jack me around again, I”m deleting them off my satellite list. GRRRrrrr! BRING BACK HANNIBAL!!!!!!
