What’s This TV Show About?
An OWN soap opera crime thriller, The Haves and the Have Nots stars Tika Sumpter, Crystal Fox, Renee Lawless, Tyler Lepley, Aaron, Peter Parros, Angela Robinson, Gavin Houston, John Schneider, Brett Davis, Presilah Nunez, and Nick Sagar. The drama centers on the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family of Savannah, Georgia and their hired help. Season five kicks off with everyone dealing with the fallout of scandal, including some life or death consequences.
Season Five Ratings
The fifth season of The Haves and the Have Nots averaged a 0.41 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.90 million viewers. Compared to season four, it’s down by 38% and 25%, respectively. Find how The Haves and the Have Nots stacks up against other OWN TV shows.

Telly’s Take
By the end of season five, The Haves and the Have Nots will have 151 episodes which is more than enough for a syndication package. While the show is still a high-rated series for OWN, the 44 episode order for season five makes me nervous. It’s not uncommon for cable channels to order lots of episodes for a later season so they don’t have to renegotiate contracts before calling it quits. 1/8/19 update: Our contact at OWN tells us that there are 11 episodes remaining in season five (bringing the total to 44 episodes) and that season six will air later in 2019.

The Haves and Have not’s is one of my favorite shows. I have watched from the first episode. I am sorry to see it go. I think there ais more to tell. I can not believe Catherine is gone Veronica needed to go but differently lol

I would love to see this show continue. I love the cut throat back mailing and stabbing. One character is more devious than the next. It is so much fun to watch. I look forward to watching this. Looking forward to season seven.

I really love this show but it needs to end with this season. Veronica needs to be destroyed in a very violent ending. Others deserve a similar fate, but I’ll trust that Tyler Perry will take care of that.
I want to see this show continue. I think Veronica could be made to suffer a season or two….wheelchair bound, frozen assets, house burn down, temporarily blind. Candance needs to stay close to her mom but suffer a nervous breakdown. RJ needs a life and he always supported Candance. After she gets the President and the men who slept with her and now wants to destroy her. I didn’t like the Cryer massacre. Benny and Mitch needs a girlfriend.
