Will there be a future for Last Man Standing? Earlier, we reported CMT was in talks to pick up the cancelled ABC TV show. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, CMT has reached a decision regarding the Tim Allen sitcom.
In May, ABC cancelled Last Man Standing after six seasons. The comedy centers on Mike Baxter (Tim Allen), a marketing director for the Outdoor Man sporting goods stores who lives with his wife and three daughters. The cast also includes Nancy Travis, Amanda Fuller, Molly Ephraim, Kaitlyn Dever, Christoph Sanders, Hector Elizondo, Flynn Morrison, Jordan Masterson, and Jonathan Adams.
Despite its record of good ratings and successful syndication performance, CMT has passed on Last Man Standing. According to THR, talks between the network and the series’ studio, 20th Century Fox Television, broke down over the show’s cost.
However, the cast of Last Man Standing are still under contract through the end of June, so there’s still a slim chance that the sitcom could be saved.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Last Man Standing? Which network do you think should pick up the cancelled show?
Please save LMS- I was the first to start watching LMS, NOW my husband and kids (teenagers) watch it . A lot of situations on the show , viewers can relate to. Tim Allen (talented and funny) and the cast that surrounds him (also talented and funny) on LMS should definitely NOT be cancelled ! They bring laughter and humor to everyday issues and that makes us laugh, and laughing is a good thing!
America needs shows like Last Man Standing. With all the bad things going on now, we really need shows like this to pick up our spirits and give us something to feel good about. ABC is no longer on my dial!!!!!!
MY HUSBAND AND I LOVE LAST MAN STANDING,WE SURE HOPE
FOX OR CMT WILL PICK THE SERIES UP.CAN’T STOP LAUGHTING.
So miss last Man Standing, I sure hop CMT picks up the program always loved Tim Allen
Fox network TV should save LMS since Fox TV Studios produces & owns rights to the show. Fox knows the show is very profitable when combining future syndication revenue for new seasons of LMS. Fox News Channel is also conservative so why not bring some of that conservatism to Fox network TV.
No need to watch or support ABC on my part anymore. Sad the network did that. Whatever your view the show was not offensive. Hopefully someone will pick it up.
Well I guess I have no reason to watch or support ABC it is sad to see a good show like this cancelled and I enjoyed the modern day humor.
This is one of those shows we watch over and over…like we do the Big Bang Theory. A great feel good sitcom no matter what direction you approach it from!
Just sad. They give up on GREAT, AMAZINGLY TALENTED AND WRITTEN WELL Tv shows , Last Man Standing being one of the BEST EVER!!! Then wonder why Netflix’s, & others like it are cleaning up over the garbage they put on TV!!! Common sense goes out the window along with a show that actually dealt with our real lives as regular Americans!!! Humor is the rarest commodity these television programmers wouldn’t recognize it if it was the nose on their own face. (But then most of their noses come from the California plastic dream factory , covered by our tax… Read more »
So why should I watch ABCanymore? Proven themselves to be liberals. We all know what abc stands for!
Since I no longer watch anything on ABC anymore, FOX should pick up Ladt Man Standing.
Or Comedy Central
Netflix
ABC axed “LMS” solely for political reasons excused this horrid decision with blatant lies then followed up by airing stupid doomed low budget series all to free up the millions required to pay off Mexican officials & allow ABC to continue the production, promotion and defense of the smut such as “Batchelor In Paradise”. We have no use for ABC or any network with the sole aspiration of becoming no more than an overrated primetime disposal venue for garbage and legalized porn.
If CMT is smart they’ll add LMS to successfully saved column with Nashville and aire it before another show needing the assistance of a series with a large faithful fan base. Besides, it lowers all costs associated with the multiple syndicated hours of LMS CMT aires Monday through Friday & provides more reruns. Good series are watched everyday on networks around the globe and LMS deserves many more seasons and to be one of these fantastic legends in syndication with at least 10 great seasons.
