In the spring, Law & Order: Organized Crime had a great launch but the NBC show’s ratings quickly dwindled downward. How will this police drama fare this time around? Is it certain to be renewed for season three, or could it possibly be cancelled? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.
Law & Order: Organized Crime is a spin-off of the long-running Law & Order: SVU TV show and stars Christopher Meloni, Danielle Moné Truitt, and Ainsley Seiger. Recurring actors include Dylan McDermott Tamara Taylor, Mariska Hargitay, Ellen Burstyn, Ron Cephas Jones, Vinnie Jones, Lolita Davidovich, Mykelti Williamson, Guillermo Díaz, Dash Mihok, Michael Raymond-James, Mike Cannon, and Izabela Vidovic. The story follows the detectives of the NYPD’s Organized Crime Control Bureau as they work to dismantle the city’s most vicious and violent illegal enterprises. Det. Elliot Stabler (Meloni) returns to the force after a decade away and must rebuild his life after a devastating personal loss. Stabler’s sergeant and partner, Ayanna Bell (Truitt), leads the task force and has a long-game strategy to take them down from the inside. Observant and deceivingly smart, Jet Slootmaekers (Seiger) utilizes her tech expertise and hacking skills to give the team a leg up on striking their target.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
5/20 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: Season one of Organized Crime on NBC averaged a 0.79 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.78 million viewers in the live+same day ratings.
Note: These are the final national ratings, including all live+same day viewing and DVR playback (through 3:00 AM). Early fast affiliate ratings (estimates) are indicated with an “*”. While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but the higher-rated series are typically renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled.
What do you think? Do you like the Law & Order: Organized Crime TV series on NBC? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
*5/11/22 update: Law & Order Organized Crime has been renewed for a third season on NBC.
I like this series. I think organized crime is a real and serious problem in the world. I can see this series go into so many storylines, so let’s make sure we have committed writers to help tell them. Pick a topic, they are out there. Global gangs, Global sex trafficking where the letter agencies are involved in it, global crime families involved in all areas of crime. Politicians global pay for play crime. Ie. Ukraine, Syria, etc…. They’re endless, do not be afraid to be bold.
Show is ridiculously bad, plot is just stupid. Time to cancel.
Renewed! I love the regular cast!
Getting kind of stupid.
I just caught up on the last episode and I’m so disappointed! Why did they go back to dealing with Wheatley? Should have moved on to another group of criminals- I’m literally rolling my eyes at how unrealistic this new plot is. If they can’t write better episodes….please cancel it!
Started off good but has allowed itself to get stale. Constant cat & mouse with Wheatley. I’m done after last nights episode.
Wolf is losing his touch & Chaiken’s involvement meant it would be a bust.
Cancellatelo
Very disappointing. It started interesting and intriguing. However, it has evolved into a very unrealistic fantasy show. How naive can the FBI and other law enforcement agencies be? Real?
It’s about time Christopher Meloni had his own show. It’s a great storyline and
Superb Cast! Forget ratings for once.
Just air good TV and this show IS!
L&O made a mistake with this one. Very disappointing show considering it comes from Dick Wolf. The ratings are terrible because it really is a bad show.
Plz, plz do not cancel this…best show ever on tv….lots of people I know would b so upset if cancelled….great actors & great story line…we also wanna see Dylan McDermott come back
Love it!!!!
I look forward to watching Law & Order Organize Crime. From the beginning it has keep me on the edge. Great job. Looking forward to Season 3
it started out terrible and it hasn’t changed. it still is a terrible show. 2 seasons are enough. It needs to be cancelled.
I am really enjoying Law and Order Organized Crime! I really like the concept of the storyline lasting a whole season vs each episode seeing the story completion each week. It keeps me coming back week after week in anticipation of what is coming next!
