What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases. Now with his mother (Helfer) taken care of, in season three, Lucifer wants to figure out who kidnapped him and why his angel wings have returned. He also has to deal with a new rival for Chloe’s attention, Lieutenant Marcus Pierce (Welling), who, unlike Lucifer, is strategic, reserved, and well-respected.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Lucifer averaged a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. Find out how Lucifer stacks up against the other FOX TV shows.
Lucifer was cancelled by FOX, but was later picked up for season four by Netflix. Season four debuts May 8, 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Although it premiered with okay numbers, the ratings for Lucifer are even lower than last year’s (and those weren’t very good). I suspect it will be back for a fourth season but it could easily be cancelled due to the low ratings. For now, I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page with breaking developments. Lucifer is my favorite show on TV, not only because of it’s superb writing, but because of it’s fun and
Wonderful cast. Tom Ellis is irreparable and fans need a payoff between Chloe and Lucifer that requires more time. There are far too many stories left to tell. We need more seasons to dive into more complex backsotstories of our favorite characters.
Jeez take a fantastic show from us why don’t ya. I feel like I’m havin separation anxiety already. Should I roll out the boring old grey carpet? Well I guess cheers to a remarkable nothing to watch. well seriously me and the wife love the show. Seems like everything gets cancelled leaving us on the edge. Hope for a reason 4……..and a six pack
Please renew for season 4! Lucifer is one of the few shows I get excited about when there’s a new episode. I agree last season was a little slow but there’s so much potential here and it hasn’t lost its appeal even a little bit for me. Challenge the writers to resolve some storylines and spin some new ones. This show is cast so well and can go to some really cool creative places. I’ll never forgive Fox for cancelling Firefly so I’ll just stupidly add that you guys owe me!
I loved the last episode (3×23), I’m such a big FAN!! I’m really “desiring” a fourth season of Lucifer!!
Please renew Lucifer for a Season 4. There is to much story left to tell for all of the characters.
Please don’t leave all the Lucifer fans hanging. We need Season 4. I’m in the UK and I wept over Quintessential Deckstar. Ratings are all over the place because the scheduling is all over the place. It is very frustrating to have such big gaps between episodes for no apparent reason. Fingers crossed for Lucifer if we can’t have Season 5 please give fans a resolution season.
i watch this on hulu and i love the show so there is alot of viewers that watch on other places that are not in the Ratings so renew this show
Please renew for Season 4!! Lucifer is one of the best shows around, funny and mystical. Ideally less focus on the “weekly murder-solving” and more on plot between the main actors. Now that Amenadiel has his wings back, this opens new doors. Can Charlotte be redeemed? Return? Also, why does Lucifer keep getting his wings back and no more devil face? So much left to explore!

I’d love to see Lucifer renewed. This is a great character show that’s also a clever procedural. I especially like that, even though ‘he’s the devil’, he’s not THE devil. He is a character created just off from a Christian understanding to not be offensive.
In addition, assuming Pierce isn’t killed off, I’d love to see a spin-off of Pierce’s life as a cop, maybe a retro or maybe a modern with flashbacks to his previous lives. I think there’s a lot of material there.

We simply HAVE to get a season 4, and hopefully more. It’s the best, most fun and unexpected show on TV at the moment and definitely my all time fave! Last two episodes for the season, am hoping desperately they announce the renewal after the next episode… I hate this waiting but just keep hoping we get the result we want. Renew renew renew!!
Please, please bring Season 4 of Lucifer!!!
