Fans of TNT’s Men of a Certain Age were understandably a little confused by last night’s finale. Early last year, the cable channel renewed the TV show for 10 more episodes. Soon after season two began in early December, TNT started promoting the season finale after just six episodes. What happened?
Well, there’s good news. Men of a Certain Age has not been cancelled. TNT decided to increase the episode order to 12 installments and has broken the season up into two parts. A start date for the next half dozen episodes hasn’t been set yet but they’ll probably be released in the summer.
Men of a Certain Age follows three male friends as they adjust to the realities of middle age. It stars Ray Romano, Scott Bakula, and Andre Braugher.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear the show will be back with more episodes? Do you think breaking up the season like this is good or bad for the ratings?
glad to hear it. although i didnt like episode 5 and 6 of this season. but still keep it coming. favorite show on right now besides Breaking Bad.
I love this show. It is my favorite, maybe tied with Breaking Bad. I am 50, so that might explain something here. I think that the audience number drop since its premiere episode, as I’ve heard in posts and not seen for myself in network news, may be due to the original star draw and the expectation for a Raymond or Quantum or Thief style of series tied the star actors’ previous hits. This is quite different than one might expect if you were a fan of the stars’ previous shows. I was surprised myself seeing it unfold during the… Read more »
It’s about time men of , well you know, got a show that showcases their specific problems. Certainly a better showcase for middle-age than Desperate Housewives. Men Of A Certain Age is well written, and beautifully shot. The acting is understated just enough to give it a comfortable realness. I hope it continues for a long time.
I really like this show and definitely not ready for it to be over!!
great show, well written
Last episide was very disappointing. Most of hour went nowhere. I’m getting tired of
Joe’s wallowing in self-pity over his gambling itch.
I never understand why networks do this breaking up thing with shows. Just let it run its season and keep us in the flow. “Men” is a great show, of course I’m glad it’s not gone but this kind of split ruins the momentum.
I love the show. I don’t like that they are breaking up the season. It was very confusing for my wife and myself as to why after a few episodes they are already doing a season finale.
WOOOOOOO!!!
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME show BEST ON TV
I love this show! What I love is that they really depict “men of a certain age” and not just idiots…They kind of know when to stay in their own lane…with periodic lane shifts until some cracks, breaks or reminds them that they are not a young physically as they are mentally. It is funny and I actually laugh out loud!!! Wonderful writing and acting!!! I would love to be on this show…it feels like home…Keep it up!
I have to say I haven’t been loving this season so far. But it’s still entertaining. I hate when they break the season up like that though. I tend to lose interest. Maybe that’s their idea? Hoping fans will lose interest so when they cancel the show, it won’t be as big a deal?
Well hard to say. It’s a better idea than letting all the episodes run now and canceling it later. But obviously if they do cancel it later, then their have some disgruntled fans.
LOVE LOVE LOVE that show. Just quality all the way around, and great fun to watch.
Glad it’s safe and returning!
Men of a Certain Age is very entertaining, hope it’s around for a long while
