The NCIS franchise has been a very successful one for CBS. While the first season’s ratings for NCIS: Hawai’i weren’t as strong as the mothership’s, they were good enough to land the freshman series a renewal. Will viewership grow in year two? Will NCIS: Hawai’i be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.
A procedural drama series, the NCIS: Hawai’i TV series stars Vanessa Lachey, Alex Tarrant, Noah Mills, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Jason Antoon, Tori Anderson, and Kian Talan. Jane Tennant (Lachey) is the first female Special Agent in Charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor. She has thrived and risen through the ranks by equal parts confidence and strategy in a system that has pushed back on her every step of the way. Her unwavering team of specialists includes junior field agent Lucy Tara (Al-Bustami); cyber intelligence specialist Ernie Malik (Antoon); second-in-command Jesse Boone (Mills); Defense Intelligence Agency Special Agent Kate Whistler (Anderson); and Kai Holman (Tarrant), a new NCIS agent. Tennant and her team balance duty to family and country while investigating high-stakes crimes involving military personnel, national security, and the mysteries of the island paradise itself.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
5/23 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: Season one of NCIS: Hawai’i on CBS averaged a 0.51 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.48 million viewers in the live+same day ratings.
Note: These are the final national ratings, including all live+same day viewing and DVR playback (through 3:00 AM). Early fast affiliate ratings (estimates) are indicated with an “*”. While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but typically the higher-rated series are renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled.
What do you think? Do you like the NCIS: Hawai’i TV series on CBS? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
*2/22/23 update: NCIS: Hawai’i has been renewed by CBS for a third season.
I can’t recall a show where the only kissing scenes are between the kesbian couple. They have the only stable relationship. Seems a tad forced.
Cancel the show, NCIS HAWAII.
It is a cheap replica of NCIS. Just like going to street vendor to buy a designer bag. I think this should will not last and time will prove my point.
No they don’t need to cancel NCIS Hawaii because it’s the best show I have to watch and I love the Tennant team and and especially LUCY and KATE and just because you don’t like the gay girls you don’t have to watch
The show, NCIS Hawaii should not be canceled. It is a great show with a great cast. I am a native of Hawaii and I am pleasantly surprised how the show has been able to present a more genuine depiction of island life. It is the first program filmed in Hawaii that has made the characters seem that they are really living here, and not Hollywood. They just seem so natural. I really like the emphasis of family on the show. Great job! Hope the show stays around for a long time.
I thoroughly enjoy the entire production of NCIS:Hawai’i. The well balanced stories of cases, action & personal lives of the characters. Vanessa Lachey has made NCIS history as the first female lead. She is tremendous! Also, NCIS:Hawai’i has also created distinction with the forefront love story being between characters Kate & Lucy. (known as ‘Kacy’) The cast is a tight- knit, supportive, dependable team/family. Cheers for a third year renewal!
I really enjoy this show and I am hoping it will be renewed. However, I don’t believe the sexual relationship between two characters should be the main issue in every episode, let alone almost every second scene. The premise of the series is criminal investigations dealing with the military. Gratuitous sexual relationships are totally unnecessary and really don’t enhance the show at all.
The lead actress is unbelievable and no charisma for Jane Tennant Character. Lol, #NCIS is losing some dignity. I vote for CANCEL #NCISHAWAII. stop forcing us to watch this show. My whole family here in Vancouver Canada have stopped watching. It is a joke kind of Show.
No matter how many episodes I have downloaded I cannot summon up any enthusiasm to watch it and of everything I have watched in several years this is by far the worst show i have seen in that time. To me there are no positives to it. Weak and at times ridiculous if not incredulous scripts, superficial dialogue and infantile interactions between characters (especially the nausea inducing interactions between the 5 year old Kate and 3 year old Lucy) and far too much bad acting from virtually all the main characters and worst of the lot that empty vessel of… Read more »
I do enjoy the show and I would love to see the rating go up.so I will keep my fingers crossed that episode 7-11 they go up and stay there.I would like to see season 3 and so fourth
has turned into just another cliche – no longer watching.
I really like all the NCIS shows but I will not longer watch NCIS Hawaii. They are throwing lesbian scenes down our throats rather than good plot. No other NCIS programs show this much sexual action (and I mean heterosexual as well). It is too much and not something I want to watch. This goes for me and all my friends.
CSI Hawaii was doomed from first episode. Terrible acting, slow and boring.
NCIS Hawaii could be a good show, but to focus so much time on a lesbian relationship is a major distraction. There has always been banter with each NCIS show, but the excessive focus on this one relationship seems to be done just to make a point, rather than being integrated more carefully into the plot. If they keep going along these lines, my family won’t be watching.
We agree that the program has become very explicit and not something I am comfortable watching with my family.
I totally agree. You put it the best.
I just happened to love Kate and Lucy and those scene’s with them in them are the best
Ncis Hawaii should be renewed
The lead actress is awful and weak. Please cancel ncishawaii. They should hire a real actress not highschool musical like actress.
The lead actress is very strong
