USA Network is reportedly renewing Necessary Roughness for a third season of 10 episodes.
This will be the show’s smallest season order to date. The first season had 12 episodes and there are 16 in the current second season.
Necessary Roughness hasn’t been a big hit for USA but the cable channel recently cancelled some of its other struggling shows — Fairly Legal and Common Law.
The 11 episodes of season two that aired over the summer averaged a 0.7 rating in the demo with 2.71 million viewers. That’s down significantly from the first season which averaged a 1.2 rating with 4.18 million.
The remaining five episodes of season two kick off on January 23rd.
What do you think? Should USA have renewed Necessary Roughness or should they have cancelled it?
Please keep this show! Please make your seasons longer too! You get involved and then the season ends so quickly!
Love the show!!!!! I’m in the military station overseas and when I got off and had some free time what I did was watched this show. I was sad when there were no more upcoming episodes :(. Do not cancel it have a lot of potential.
LOVE this show! DO NOT CANCEL!!!
I enjoy watching this program. Do not cancel
USA nevers advertises this great show, Necessary Roughness. They need to promote it more, you never see a NR marathon of shows like other USA shows and they very very rarely run advertisements. Show some more support and a few marathons of season 1 and season 2 would be nice to advance the awareness of the show.
I totally agree with you I love the show I watch it every week
how does Necessary Roughness get renewed over Political Animals?
I can only assume it was something to do with them billing it as a limited series, people weren’t interested in something small.
Renewed it, this is a pretty underrated show, Fairly legal was even more underrated, but this is better than nothing though.
[…] UPDATE: Necessary Roughness will return on January 23rd. The show has also been renewed for season three. […]
