What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the NBC television network, New Amsterdam stars Ryan Eggold, Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims, Anupam Kher, and Tyler Labine. Doctor Max Goodwin (Eggold) is a caring and charming physician whose goal is to fix a broken medical system and to provide exceptional care to the people who need it most. He inspires (almost) everyone around him, and will stop at nothing to breathe new life into the understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated New Amsterdam hospital.

Will NBC cancel or renew New Amsterdam for season two? The ratings are still pretty strong (compared to other network shows) so this series looks safe for now, particularly since the network ordered a full season of 22 episodes. I absolutely love this show. One of the best! Almost afraid to say that because the good ones are cancelled so often.
So glad to see that I had the wrong day for New Amsterdam..thought it had been canceled..Great show,glad there will be 22 +episodes. Keep it coming,excellent show….

My family and I absolutely love this show. I believe Max is a wonderful example of a husband and new father to be. I want to see more shows with wholesome goodness, such as this show displays on primetime TV!

What is with the annoying backgroud music or instruments playing during dialogue?? A little adds to the show but this is overboard! Dont think we will continue to watch if this continues…..
I agree. The background nose is ridiculously loud and annoying. Such a shame because the show is great…when I can hear what they are saying!

If the background music (noise) wasn’t so loud it drowns out the dialog (as with many shows these days) it might be an interesting show. (WHY do they do that? It adds nothing to the show and is extremely distracting!)
It isn’t the show… I figured this out from a couple other shows, on in particular is Blue Bloods on CBS, the program comes on at 8 pm on CBS Eastern, however it is also broadcasted on a local “Global” channel and we are re-routed to that program because it is our local, meaning we see local commercials instead of Detroit commercials. I CANNOT watch the show at this time because of the background noise, I instead record and watch it at 11 pm on CBS Seattle when it isn’t dead through a local channel. Could be a good show but absolutely hate the narration. It is so annoying and totally unnecessary.
