One Day At A Time
Netflix will not longer be taking it One Day at a Time. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the streaming service has cancelled the TV show after three seasons.
A reboot of the Norman Lear series, the comedy centers on the Cuban-American Alverez family. The cast includes Justina Machado, Rita Moreno, Isabella Gomez, Marcel Ruiz, Todd Grinnell, and Stephen Tobolowsky.
Despite its popularity with audiences and critics alike, Netflix has decided not to renew One Day at a Time. In a public statement, Netflix boss Ted Sarandos suggested the show’s low viewing numbers may be the reason for its cancellation:
It’s been a great honor to work with the legendary Norman Lear on One Day at a Time. I’ve personally spoken with Norman and co-creators Gloria Calderon Kellett and Mike Royce to express my gratitude to them, all the writers, the dedicated crew and the cast, including the brilliant Justina Machado and dazzling Rita Moreno, for creating a series with such humor, heart and humanity. This was a very difficult decision, and we’re thankful to all the fans who’ve supported the series, our partners at Sony and all the critics who embraced it. While it’s disappointing that more viewers didn’t discover One Day at a Time, I believe the series will stand the test of time.”

We need more shows like this which openly talks about all sort of issues we face today. It’s fun, dramatic and honest and the cast is absolutely fantastic in their on way and specially Rita Moreno which I consider such a role model in terms of mental and physical health, genuity and intelligence!! It’s so difficult to find wholesome family shows that are still entertaining and funny! This was a diamond in the ruff that unfortunately never got it’s opportunity to truly shine!
I truly do love this show, sucks it has been cancelled but i hope it will be pick up by another network.
So another show that I love is going away. Why is it that all the good shows get cancelled yet everyone wants to keep the crap shows? It had great actors, characters and stories. I’m going to miss it

What?? I love this show! Its family friendly… something that both kids and parents can watch…. and there aren’t too many of those on TV anymore!
This TV show was definitely a show for the whole family..touching lives in every way shape and form I hope someone else picks it up. I really was excited for a season 4!
