NBC has had great success with This Is Us, a family drama that explores characters’ lives by going back and forth in time. That show is ending this season and the peacock network has now introduced Ordinary Joe, a drama that follows the main character’s life via three possible timelines. Will it also be a hit? Will Ordinary Joe be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A drama series, the Ordinary Joe TV show stars James Wolk, Natalie Martinez, Elizabeth Lail, Charlie Barnett, David Warshofsky, and Teddy Sears with Adam Rodriguez, Jack Coleman, Christine Adams, Joe Carroll, Rushi Kota, Jason Burkey, and Gabrielle Byndloss in recurring roles. The show follows young Joe Kimbreau (Wolk) as he makes a pivotal and life-changing decision at his Syracuse University graduation. The three parallel stories that diverge from that night find Joe and the people around him with different careers, relationships, and family lives. The three tales each follow Joe some 10 years after his graduation: following in his father’s footsteps, as a police officer; following his passion, as a music star; and after he marries his love, as a nurse.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the final national ratings, including all live+same day viewing and DVR playback (through 3:00 AM). Early fast affiliate ratings (estimates) are indicated with an “*”. While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but typically the higher-rated series are renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled.
What do you think? Do you like the Ordinary Joe TV series on NBC? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
*3/4/2022 update: NBC has cancelled the Ordinary Joe TV show after one season.
Please renewed season 2. So good new drama never missed any episodes of it. Enjoy it and love it.
Saw an ad on t.v. about the show and season one was almost over so I had to watch 7 episodes via on demand. I now have my DVR set. I’m thankful to see episode 10 coming on the 3rd. PLEASE do not cancel this show. With This is Us almost over Ordinary Joe would be a great replacement.
My spouse and I are in our early 70s and really look forward to the twists & turns of this well-written & beautifully-acted show! In fact, it is the only episodic network TV show we record, so count us among the “OJ” loyalists!
MY FAVOURITE SHOW OF THE NEW YEAR. GREAT ACTING AND CHARACTERS. WOULD LOVE TO FOLLOW THEM FOR A FEW YEARS AS I THINK THE CONCEPT IS GREAT AND SOMETHING ALOT OF US WOULD LOVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE HAPPEN
I think ordinary Joe is a great show. I really hope it has a second season +.
Please renew Ordinary Joe, we love it. Great format with the storyline and great cast and acting. It’s not confusing if you watched from the begining and pay attention when it’s on. This is one of the best along with Blue Bloods. Please don’t cancel it, I’m still mad they cancelled Nashville.
PLEASE DON’T CANCEL THIS SHOW. IT’S ONE OF THE BEST I’VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME, AND IS MY NEW FAVORITE. EXCELLENT STORYLINE, CAST AND ACTING. PLEASE RENEW ORDINARY JOE!!!!
Love this show. Please renew.
PLEASE DON’T CANCEL. I LOOK FORWARD TO THE SHOW EVERY WEEK. IT HAS AN AWESOME MESSAGE WITH VERY INTERESTING CHARACTERS. PLEASE RENEW.
Ordinary Joe is a great show!! It touches my heart in many ways! We need shows like this!
Please renew. GREAT SHOW
Please don’t cancel Ordinary Joe. It has quality writing and acting. So much better than the usual crsp – LaBrea, for example. Please don’t dumb out your viewers.
I find this TV show very confusing!!! I get that there are three threads of a person’s life journies (parallel ones, too!) but the differentiations needed to be clear in the beginning. I like the acting. I LOVE THE YOUNG ACTOR WITH THE DISABILITY!!! I congratulate all of you for presenting a real, relatable, funny, smart kid who is in a wheelchair and is a part of the main action not off to the sides. THANK YOU for this! BUT! The show needs to be more transparent……….that’s not quite the right word but it’s the one I have for now… Read more »
Interesting show. Better than that crap La Brea which already has been given a second season.. ARE YOU KIDDING!!?
La Brea is a hoot! It’s so dumb, it’s fun to watch! Definitely drinking game material!
Ratings talk. La Brea is a hit. NBC would be dumb to cancel it. The entertainment industry is a business, not a charity. A show needs to make money to be successful. People need to actually watch it, and they are. La Brea is so much fun to watch, because it’s outlandish. That’s the whole point.
Love it!
