TV show description:
Inspired by the personal experiences of Dr. J. Allen Hynek (Gillen), the Project Blue Book TV series is a scripted drama series, based on the real-life, top-secret investigation into Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) and related activity, conducted in the 1950s and ’60s by the United States Air Force.
The story centers on Hynek, a top-notch college professor, married to the loyal Mimi (Mennell). The Air Force recruits Allen to lead its secret operation, code name Project Blue Book. On behalf of the government, he then researches thousands of cases — and hundreds of them still remain unsolved. Each episode uses actual case files and UFO theories, with historical events serving as the backdrop.
Hynek works under General James Harding (McDonough), a confident man with keen insight who oversees the Project Blue Book division. In turn, General Hugh Valentine (Harney), keeps a close eye on Harding and the new project.
Cases explored during the series include the West Virginia Flatwoods Monster Incident; the Fargo, North Dakota Gorman Dogfight; Texas’ Lubbock Lights; and the Chiles-Whitted UFO Incident of Montgomery, Alabama. While delving into these occurrences, it also examines issues including trust, instinct, real news vs. fake, and government coverups, as well as the unknown.

When UFOs and USOs (unidentified submersible objects) begin plaguing a massive naval exercise on the border of Russian waters, Hynek and Quinn realize it’s up to them to stop a rogue Admiral from starting World War III.

Extremely Disappointing!! What was it too intelligent for people? Made them question what they perceive as reality and it scared them? Like others have said I guess it didn’t drop to the lowest denominator of sex, smut, drugs, and gun play! Horrible decision, I hope it is picked up by another network.
Project Blue Book is an excellent series! There is so much garbage on TV that survives and you cancel this show!?!?! I looked forward to watching it every week. This is extremely disappointing! I pray another network picks it up and the show does extremely well. Then H-Channel will look back and understand the mistake they made.

I can’t believe Project Blue Book is cancelled! I guess not enough smut and gore for viewers. What a great show & I can only hope it’s picked up by some other network! What a sad thing this is for all of us PBB fans!

Why did Project Blue Book get cancelled? It had good ratings. All the interesting shows get pulled. Bring it Back!!!!
Go figure, they actually have a decent show on TV and then cancel it after two seasons; yet, all that other garbage keeps renewing season after season.

Best damn show I’ve seen in a while, really well done especially because it’s based on true facts.
Think it is a very good show. Really enjoy each episode and sincerely hope it continues. Would be good on the Sy Fy channel. Remember they canceled Star trek too.

I had an awful feeling that History would kill the show. At first as I watched the finale, I was thinking they can’t cancel this and when it ended I thought I don’t want them to cancel it, we have to find out what happened to Captain Quinn after Dr. J. Allen Hynek thought he was dead but then they showed he survived the depth charges and he saw what looked like an underground city. You suck History. I have a feeling Knightfall will be next. And of course The Vikings have one more season left.
your psychic powers are correct. what’s annoying is that vikings has had a very long run; yet, they’re allowing that show 10 more episodes, that havent even been created yet. michael malarkey says that all of pbb season 3 is ready to go!

This was THE tv program I waited for each week. It has some glitches in the script i.e. lines like “that much security on a military base is a little unusual” but I over looked that kind of stuff. I want this show to come back so much. Its just about the only bright spot in tv shows.
