Rebel is one of the more surprising cancellations of this television season. ABC Signature President Jonnie Davis is the latest to speak out about the cancellation of the drama series after only four episodes into its season. It appears cancelling the Katey Sagal series was just as hard from the side of the studio.
Davis said the following about the decision made by ABC to cancel the series, per Deadline:
“We love Krista Vernoff, we made this incredible deal with her. There’s no better showrunner in town — and a creator by the way — and we were gut-punched about Rebel. We hoped that was going to get more time to fully find the audience, and if you’re reading the blogs right now, people love that show. We’re still licking our wounds on that one.”
Sagal and others have also spoken out publicly about the cancellation of Rebel. There is still hope the series could find a new home.

I think ABC made a huge mistake, I hope someone else picks up the show.
I love this show I can’t believe there canceling it it’s really a great show I’m very disappointed
I love this show. So shocked about the cancellation. It wasn’t given a chance….it was only 4 episodes for peety sake’s. I think the “powers that be” need to rethink their erroneous decision.
Another mistake by ABC. I’ll miss this show and this cast.
This is very sad news. I enjoyed the show. They truly didn’t give it a chance. A lot of people have been very bored with the show beforehand, so never saw Rebel. I wish the people would rethink this.

This show has so many positive things to consider besides the actors are great and is the type of show that has message women leading so much We loved it and if ABC don’t appreciate it please other tv channel has to appear. I can’t wait to see again Mrs Saval she has courage and I loved her
It’s unbelievable that the network would cancel this fantastic drama. It has a GREAT cast, intrigue, good guys fighting against greed and corruption!! Do we really need more nighttime fame shows an reality programs???? Please don’t cancel! Or someone with sense please pick up!!
I always looked forward to watching Rebel every week. It was different from the other shows. It’s uplifting where the others are either stupid or depressing. I think their making a mistake.

Rebel is a great show. It should not be canceled.
This is one of the best new shows to come on recently. A strong female lead with other strong support characters are rare on tv anymore. Katey Segal is so multi faceted as Rebel and shows that powerful men and their companies shouldn’t get away with the b*llsh*t they seem able to get away with. She is a big voice with a bigger heart! Bring her back! Now!
I think t is idiotic to cancel this show at this. I will not e sureprised to find that it is replaced by some knock off of one of the many “reality” shows. Which are cheaper to creae. Nowonder so many of us depart the old 3 networks for Netflix, Amazon, Discovrry+ and others.
