What’s This TV Show About?
An ABC comedy-drama, The Rookie stars Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Titus Makin, Mercedes Mason, Melissa O’Neil, Afton Williamson, and Eric Winter. The story centers on John Nolan (Fillion), a small-town guy who, after a life-changing experience, decides to pursue his dream of being an LAPD officer. Now he’s the oldest rookie on the force, and the brass thinks he’s just having a midlife crisis. He’s got to keep up with his younger co-workers (not to mention young criminals) or he’ll risk lives. Maybe though, he can use the experience he’s gained with age, and the determination he has developed over the years, to make a real go of it. Either way, he’s got a secret weapon — his sense of humor.

Will ABC cancel or renew The Rookie for season two? The ratings haven’t been very good but I suspect the network will give this series every chance to succeed. My guess is that it will be cancelled but ABC could renew it and make some changes to try to improve the ratings. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. Love the Rookie,,,I hope that this show renews for a 2nd season! My husband and I have to DVR it every week so that we can watch it together.
My mom and I watch it religiously. We love it! My sister’s family does too. It would be a huge mistake to cancel it. Please, keep it going!
Rookie is my favorite show on ABC please renew it. I’ve been following Nathan since he was on One Life To Live. Was very upset when Castle was cancelled & don’t want that happening to The Rookie.
The Rookie is so fantastic!! Smart, funny and serious all in one! I love how it shows what police officers face everyday and the different ways they have to deal with very serious life issues. Keep this wonderful show on the air!!!
This is a well written, well acted and entertaining hour of television. ABC can cancel ANY of its unfunny “comedies” and have room for this show. Nathan Fillion has proven himself to ABC with many years successful years of “Castle” He deserves a second season.

Please don’t cancel The Rookie, we really love the show. It portrays the cops as regular human beings. The writers have done a great job of the scripts.
Please, please don’t cancel this awesome show! Those of us still devastated by the cancelling of Castle need to have our Fillion Fix! It’s a show I can actually watch with my 11 and 15 yr old sons. Come on, ABC!!Keep The Rookie!
