The series finale of SEAL Team has been released on Paramount+, and now the man in charge of the military drama is revealing more about what might have happened if the series had been renewed for an eighth season.
David Boreanaz, Neil Brown, Jr., A.J. Buckley, Toni Trucks, Beau Knapp, Raffi Barsoumian, and Dylan Walsh star in the SEAL Team series, which follows the daily lives of a Navy SEAL unit.
Spoiler alert: The seventh and final season ends with Boreanaz’s Jason as a part of a new Bravo team, with the rest of his former squad heading off in different directions. According to TV Line, SEAL Team showrunner Spencer Hudnut said the following about what seasons seven and eight would have looked like:
“That was going to be largely dictated by the contractual things you run into when you get to an end of a Season 7, the actors who have to come to a decision…. But when I originally broke this season, the end of the [seventh] season was Jason and Mandy arriving in Afghanistan to go on this journey, this road to atonement for Jason, which we had to then kind of cram into the episode in a different way. My hope was to set them off on a path where Jason was on the road to figuring out a way to forgive himself, and wipe the stains of war off of him, but also land in a place where we could get them into trouble to start a potential Season 8 in a really big way.”
The series finale of SEAL Team might not be the last you see of these characters. Deadline reports the following about the status of the standalone movie project:
With no one killed off in the finale, and an overall uplifting ending that is ripe with possibilities and new beginnings, it’s possible for the procedural’s story to be revisited in the future. As previously noted, a stand-alone movie was announced in 2022, which hasn’t seen much headway. We hear it’s not dead, though it is not currently moving along the process to come to fruition.
With the series now having wrapped, it is possible those plans could move forward.

This is crap, Seal Team was on regular TV the you moved it onto a streaming service. Like everything else it’s all about money. You can all go to hell.

I was hoping the series would continue, but I was happy to see the ending with everyone still alive. I am a fan of happy endings and would have liked to have seen Jason and Mandy starting a different life if it was the end of the series.
So disappointed it ended. Definitely would love a movie.
We want the series to continue. Seal Tesm is our favorite show. Yes, we would see the movie, but prefer the tv series.

This was truly one of the best shows on television. I was satisfied with how the show ended (better than most endings). I would absolutely watch a movie(s).
When Max Thieriot left, that was it for me.
I don’t like Fire Country.
Just didn’t see the point in wasting time on a terminal series.
My wife and I love Fire Country but I for one will ALWAYS see Max as a SEAL. I really didn’t like the way they wrote him out. But I’m glad his wife and kid showed up in Season 7, but it sucked the way they treated Sonny with their exit.

Very cool show. Was a bit “meh” at the beginning of the first season for me but then I got hooked up. Nice it lasted that long and got a proper ending.
Seal Team was one of the best shows ever put on the air. as usual CBS cancels one of their best shows too early. we as american need to have shows like this to show all what our wonderful military is capable of. BRING IT BACK OR WE MAY SEND YOU A LARGER AMOUNT OF NUTS THIS TIME. QUIT
