So You Think You Can Dance has aired 12 seasons on FOX, and fans are waiting for word on season 13. FOX has not yet given the green light to another season of the dancing competition reality series.
Deadline gave an update when talking about Nigel Lythgoe recently. Lythgoe had given fans an update on Twitter last month that he has not heard anything.
According to Deadline, a decision about season 13 has still not been made yet. The news outlet reported:
“The news comes as Fox is going down to the wire deciding the fate of Lythgoe’s series So You Think You Can Dance. In the past, renewals for the dancing competition have come before the Thanksgiving holiday as auditions typically start in January. The plot for a potential Season 13 pickup of SYTYCD thickened further in early October when Fox bought a couples dancing competition show from former The Voice executive producer Stijn Bakkers and American Idol producer FremantleMedia North America.”

It needs to be canceled. I was a long time fan – watched since season 1 and even suffered through 2015’s season. Now that it’s all kids I will no longer watch. If you go to FB you will see there are 100s of us that all feel the same. They have destroyed this show. Fox would be better off showing repeats in it’s place and put it out of its misery before the end of summer.
I have enjoyed this program more than any other reality show – please do not cancel!
FOX has cancelled American Idol and SYTYCD has had low raitings despite the changes made. With a new Dance show being created, it doesn’t look good for the show. The only reason they brought it back this past summer is because they didn’t have another other good show to air.
Please don’t cancel but get rid of Street vs Stage. Did not like it!!!! I have watched faithfully every season and gone to the live tours. Love it!!!! Each year the dancers get better and better.
Liked stage and street just not the dancers this year and not the even pick of guys and girls on both sides
Fox. Do not cancel so you think you can dance. It is the best show on television today. Far better than American got talent or the voice.bdo yourself a favor and keep this show.
This show needs to be cancelled ASAP…. it has long lost its legitimacy… no thank u to another season of producer manipulated results!!!! Tired of the Lies that the dancers pick out of a hat when the producers have a script set from the beginning they choose who they want in top 10 and who they want to win and then unfairly build a show around them HAND CHOOSING THE CHOREOGRAPHERS AND STYLE ensuring that those dancers get the best and then down play the other more talented dancers and sway viewers and votes with awful comments and back handed… Read more »

Please don’t cancel! And bring back the guest judges! The judges last season, and the stage vs street, nearly ruined it for me and it was the first season that I didn’t watch the finale right after it aired.
Please do not cancel So You Think You Can Dance!!!!!! It is SO MUCH BETTER than any other show of its type…..not even in the same universe. It is innovative, entertaining and significant. If you cancel it, this will just prove what people say about how stupid people really are and how quality just has no place in our society.

I will not watch a show with couples. This show is unique in a different way.
They need to revamp the show.
Give it a kiss off. From what I’ve seen I can’t say I’ve seen dancing. Strange movements more than anything else.
To Why Watch…. the awful gyrations were from the street dancers…. not the trained dancers.

Love, love, love this show! Don’t cancel! It is so wonderful to see these young dancers and the spectacular choreography that is so inventive and exciting! I no longer watch Dancing with the Stars because it’s usually the same-old-same-old, whereas So You Think You Can Dance is new and refreshing every season. And Cat Deeley is a terrific host, better than Tom What’s His Name on the other show.
Nah, get rid of the “spectacular young dancers”. But keep the show.
