Supergirl meet … Supergirl. The Wrap reports that CBS’ Supergirl series has cast Laura Vandervoort for an upcoming role. The actress played Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) during the later seasons of the CW Superman drama series Smallville.
Vandervoort will reportedly play Indigo, “a strong-willed, living supercomputer” who turned against the Krypton population. This is not the first time a former Supergirl has appeared on the CBS series. Helen Slater, who played the character in the 1984 Supergirl film, appeared on the show as well.
Additionally, CBS has announced they’ve cast Jeff Branson as Master Jailer, the merciless jail guard of Fort Rozz.
The cast news comes at a busy time for Supergirl. Earlier today, we reported that there may also be an Arrow or The Flash crossover with the CBS show.
What do you think? Did you watch Vandervoort on Smallville? What other Smallville or DC series characters would you like to see on Supergirl?
I wouldn’t mind if the writers let Vandervoort take over the show and let the blackbelt kick the singers …
I wouldn’t say Supergirl would crossover Arrow. I would say Supergirl would crossover The Flash. I did see her on Smallville. I thought she was good.
Do you know what a title character is? The town was the title “character” on Smallville. Your article implies her character’s name was Smallville.
The wording was a little awkward so I’ve adjusted it. Thanks for your kind comment.
Laura V. would a good addition. I liked her on Smallville and the other Syfy show she’s on about the werewolves.
That “other” syfy show “Bitten” is on its last season, sadly. So I guess we fans who’ve tried to get it renewed have done it in vain just like Lost Girl. What’s up with Canadian TV? They screw things up royally all the time! So Laura’s jumped ship, as she should, for a better future! Best of luck!
