If you need proof that The Firm is doomed to be cancelled by NBC, you just have to look at the show’s ratings. Not only did the new legal series bomb on Thursday nights but it’s currently being trounced on Saturday nights as well — airing opposite CSI: New York repeats, 20/20, and FOX’s forgotten Q’Viva! The Chosen reality series.
The ratings for The Firm have been so poor that one had to start wondering if NBC might bump the series off the Saturday schedule as well. Well, that’s what they’re doing — at least for one week.
This week’s episode of The Firm has been replaced by a rerun of the 90-minute premiere of Fashion Star (which debuts tonight). That will be followed by an encore of the first episode of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, which first aired in January. Rockers returns to the NBC schedule on April 4th.
On March 24th, NBC has slotted an episode of the USA Network series Fairly Legal at 8pm, a slot that had been filled by reruns of Smash. The network hasn’t announced which episode of Fairly Legal will air but the season two opener (which will run this Friday on USA) seems likely.
The network is shaking up their Saturday night schedule and if they can come up with better numbers than what The Firm has been getting, the legal drama could easily be off the schedule for good. NBC has aired just 10 of the show’s 22 episodes thus far.
What do you think? Are you still watching NBC’s The Firm? Do you watch the episodes on Saturday nights, on demand or online? Would you be upset if NBC pulled it for good?

Hope I’ll be able to watch it till the end the first season. Would be a bummer otherwise. Show is very good. Doesn’t need the mafia stuff. Conspiration theme is strong enough.
Please do not cancel…I have watched everyshow and hope to watch the whole series. It is one of the best shows on TV. If I miss part of it I watch on the internet. I have even watched some twice.
NBC hasn’t even given The Firm a chance. It is NEVER advertised. It is a great show! It is so much better than most of the shows on NBC. It is something we can watch with our teenagers. A good drama!
This show has me hooked. I knew when it moved to Saturday that it was a weird move but couldn’t understand why it was in trouble. Each week I’m left waiting for the next episode it’s that good! I started watching Alcatraz around the same time and could not do more than 3 episodes. THAT show needs to go, not The Firm. I have a feeling not a lot of promo went into The Firm before it started therefore people do not even know it exists. I love it and it would be a shame to see it go.
Aw, come on. Don’t slam one show to praise another. I love The Firm AND Alcatraz.
Hopefully they’ll both be around for awhile. Especially after the killer season finale for Alcatraz. Oh – I guess you didn’t see it. 😉
Please dont cancel! We love this show…we watch online every week .. This is a smart interesting show with lots of twists, too bad NBC didn’t give it a better chance.
I know, it’s a drama, with well written scripts, carefully woven plotlines, excellent actors, so why shouldn’t NBC cancel it? We know they need room for more shows featuring Top Model, Top Chef, Top Babysitter, Top Wallpaper Hanger. For goodness’ sake, let this show run its full 22 episodes, leave it on Saturday night and see what happens. I already watch Fairly Legal on USA and don’t need to see it again on NBC Saturday. Why do the networks always pander to the lowest common denominator?
Newtorks should understand you have to have a bit of patience with some shows which will pay off. The Firm is one of those shows. Its like a book that takes time to develop. Please dont cancel as its been getting more interesting each episode
I have watched every episode of the Firm, and wish it would stay on the air, but I am sure it won’t they would rather put on another mindless sit-com.
Do not cancel… give viewers time to catch up from the start so they can better understand the initial plot. I believe that the cast and individual/entire plot has a better chance of being appreciated if followed from the start. However, the moral characteristics of the individual plot of each episode seperate from itself is inspiring and that is what NBC should be sticking with. Just give the audience a little more time to grow.
Best show ever !!! I can’t believe nbc would even consider canceling it. The firm is an actual adult show. If nbc takes that away from us, we’ll be forced to watch heartbroken vampires and reality television. Instead of something with intelligent thoght put into it.
I LOVE THE FIRM!!! NBC needs to keep this show. It’s intriguing with good characters and a a darn good plot. DON’T CANCEL THIS SHOW!
It’s a good show. Finish it with a bang for the season and get people watching the reruns! Come on NBC, you keep giving up on a good thing- try not to do it this time.
The networks get a solid show ( intelegent show ) and brain deads will not watch. The general viewer wants a show that they can leave for 10 minutes to get a bear and pick up were they left off. The Firm is a show that you have to watch every minute to keep up with the streaming plots and the weekly plots. Good intelegent show. If it is canceled I hope that it is picked up by the cable channels like Southland ( my favorate cop show on TNT that was dropped by the Networks.
Please don’t cancel this show! It is one of the few I look
Forward to watching. We even watch it Saturday night.
Oh no! Please don’t cancel the Firm!
