The eighth season of The Haves and the Have Nots just kicked off on OWN this week. While the series hasn’t been cancelled, it seems like the Tyler Perry drama is coming to an end in 2021 and won’t have a ninth season.
Airing on Tuesday nights, The Haves and the Have Nots stars John Schneider, Tika Sumpter, Angela Robinson, Renee Lawless, Crystal Fox, Peter Parros, Tyler Lepley, Gavin Houston, and Aaron O’Connell. The drama centers on the complicated dynamic between the Cryer, Harrington, and Young families of Savannah, Georgia. In season eight of this drama series, Judge Cryer (Schneider) and his rich friends are all finding out what happens when personal flaws go unchecked. Karma has not been kind to the elite one-percenters.
The eighth season of The Haves and the Have Nots currently averages a 0.10 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 873,000 viewers. Compared to season seven, that’s down by 60% in the demo and down by 34% in viewership. The series was once the cable channel’s highest-rated show but the premiere’s numbers put it much closer to the bottom of the list. Is it time for the show to end?
New York Post recently ran a profile about Robinson under the title “Haves and Have Nots star breaks down its final season”. The article goes on to confirms that the series is ending by noting “It kicks off its final season Tuesday at 8 p.m. on the cable network.” and “Robinson tells fans to expect the final season of The Haves and Have Nots to be an emotional rollercoaster.”
But wait, hasn’t the cast already filmed a ninth season? Maybe not.
In 2019, Houston said that he was about to start filming the ninth season of the series. The season lengths for this series have been very inconsistent — ranging from nine to 44 episodes a season — so, OWN could have changed their plans about how the episodes would be grouped.
OWN has been quiet about the show’s immediate future. However, Perry’s other shows on the channel have already ended. In 2017, Perry signed a deal to produce 90 episodes of television each year for ViacomCBS outlets (including BET and BET+) so that’s been keeping him very busy.
It’s unclear how many episodes in season eight but hopefully, The Haves and the Have Nots will have a satisfying conclusion.

I’m sorry to hear this. I was going through a very emotional time in my life when the show started in 2013. I looked forward to Tuesday night’s @8pm for the have and the have not’s. I think the viewier ship might be down because people DON’T have time for this on and off that shows do now days .Time you get off into the shoe following it ,off for so many months. By the time it’s back on your either watching something else new or you star over trying to keep up with that show and the new one your watching. Alot of people love the soap opera take on shows like and get into watching weekly. I am disappointed that the show is going off

I enjoyed the HAHN. I’m looking forward to see how it ends. Hopefully, the finale will not leave a lot of unanswered questions.
I do like this show it just comes on a channel that is not included in our cable package. Maybe if he air the show on BET or a channel that is free they will receive higher rating. Remember we are in a pandemic now people have lost their jobs paying for cable is not a necessary option right now. Just something to think about.
Please do a spin off..Don’t kill this show. I feel it can last longer than the greatest sitcom of all times.
I have looked forward to THATHN from the first show. I even purchased a DVR to assure that I wouldn’t miss and episode. I would always wait anxiously for the new Season to begin. I was so excited to see the Seasons was coming quicker this time. Please, please don’t take The Haves And The Haves Not . This is the best show ever.

The have and the have-nots have gotten very crowded and too many unnecessary people and uneccessary events Drawn out time to end the crowded stage. A few people should gave been gone and a lot of garbage. I love the show. I just wish that the show would have more good times. I would have loved for Erica to stay on the show longer. Having a relationship with Judge Harrington. I also wish that Kandi would catch a break and that Veronica gets what’s coming to her. I wish that the show would go on and if things would change I believe people would start watching it more.

Very upset! Haves and have not’s is my favorite show. Upset when one season ends anticipating the next. No good reason it has to end. I know Tyler switched networks but that doesn’t mean haves and have not’s has to end. The show must go on. Vicki the biggest Tyler Perry and haves and have not’s fan ever!
sometimes tyler perry gets carried away with the script and puts too much into the show, instead of staying with it. i will miss the show, but it was getting crazy.
