There is no need to wonder whether the Turn: Washington’s Spies TV show will be cancelled or renewed for season five. When AMC renewed the historical drama series, the cable channel stipulated it was for a fourth and final season. So, why bother to track the ratings? First of all, it keeps us off the streets. But probably, more importantly, it helps us gauge whether other AMC TV series will be cancelled or renewed. Finally, strong ratings increase the likelihood of a spin-off or sequel series. So how will Turn: Washington’s Spies do in the Nielsens, during its final installment? Stay tuned.
An American Revolutionary War spy drama, Turn: Washington Spies stars Jamie Bell as Abraham Woodhull, Owain Yeoman as Benedict Arnold, and Ian Kahn as George Washington. The AMC cast also includes: Seth Numrich, Daniel Henshall, Heather Lind, Meegan Warner, Kevin R. McNally, Angus Macfadyen, Burn Gorman, Samuel Roukin, Ksenia Solo, and Nick Westrate. The story follows the Culper Spy Ring — friends who become spies to help turn the tide of the war.
The fourth and final season opens with traitor Benedict Arnold exacting revenge upon George Washington, by handing over suspected spies to the Brits. And while Woodhull and his Culper Ring cohorts evade Arnold’s grasp, he feels compelled to seek vengeance. What truly matters, though, is winning the war. Woodhull must forsake his bloodlust and focus, in order to prevail.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

What do you think? Are you still watching the Turn: Washington Spies TV series? Is it ending at the right time, or should it have been renewed for a fifth season on AMC?
TURN has been one of the best shows on TV. It made me look into history from the personal side of the characters. I looked up a lot of the characters, read in-depth biographies and learned more than was taught in school about the struggles and sacrifices made by ordinary people. Please make a spin-off series about Washington/Hamilton after the Revolution!
For much the same reasons, I loved this Turn and Mad Men. As AMC advertises, its in characters that matter. Very sorry to see it go, but I’m sure AMC will continue to please.
again another great show is cancelled… the ending was fine yet not as great as it would have been if this had been extended to another season…it felt as if it were rushed instead of having a profound statement.. it was nice but it would have been better to have a season to see how more defined our nation was born..
One of the best shows I’ve ever watched; very sorry that it has ended, but they did a great job wrapping it up.
Fabulous series!! Incredibly well done!! My family and I are very disappointed the show has ended!!
I’m 18, this is the best show I’ve ever seen in my life. I only wish that it would have not ended, I hope they rethink their choice and start a season 5.
If you would track ages 50-70 Turn’s ratings would be off the charts! I introduced my 14 year old grandson to this series he loves it! The least you can do is make a sequel! Please!
We love the series. One if the best historical interpretations that has been produced to date. Looking forward to future ventures with AMC. History rocks!
Turn is without a doubt one of THE best shows presently on air, with great scripts, production and awesome historic storytelling. I love this show! Sadly the ”demographics” of present day prefer mindless and simplistic plots with superheroes and lots of gore…truly a sign of these woeful times. Thank you AMC for letting the producers terminate this fantastic epic story and allowing some quality programming to peek through all the garbage! Bravo to the entire crew!
Turn has been an incredible show and storyline. I have found this to be an incredible show, but never felt it stood a chance in today’s markets. As a 20 year old infatuated with American history this is the perfect show. However, due to the advertising leading up to the show, and the time slots Turn has been given, it never was able to attract a large following. I will cherish the remaining episodes and be on the lookout for future spin-offs and possibilities.
The whole family absolute loves the show and have from the very beginning it’s everything a good drama should be. Keep it up AMC!
Wish more people would watch. It is a solid show…and I love History.
Love this show! Sad that it’s ending but I hope they end it properly.
This is the most amazing story/show. Now I k ow the reason it’s ratings are not that great. It’s because the today’s day and age youngsters see and here American revolution/ history they think nah I didn’t like history. Not even giving it a chance. I’m a huge fan of the walking dead and this show is so much better . Sad it’s been shortened. Shame on amc.
Personally I feel the show should NOT be cancelled. The 18-49 demographic isn’t me Why should their reality tv loving non-intellectual, trivial mono brains rule what is good television viewong. Too many shows today have no content, no thought processes used for dialogue and exploit skin and sex. Not my cup of tea. Keep Turn on AMC.
