Tonight marks the last scheduled episode of low-rated Undercovers. NBC has 13 installments of the cancelled TV show but only scheduled 11 of them. There’s no word on when or if the other two will see the light of day. So, what are fans missing?
Undercovers co-creator and executive producer Josh Reims told Blastr back in October that, “The main direction that we’re headed in the overall scheme of things is we have some mythology that’s starting to play out in the show now which will get larger and larger as we go along.”
Reims continued, “We find out in episode 12 or 13, I can’t remember which, the real reason that Steven and Samantha were actually brought back to the CIA. And it’s not just to save Leo, who was their friend. There’s much more involved in that.” Based on episode titles, it would seem that number 13, “The Reason,” holds the big secret. Episode 12 is titled “Dark Cover.”
Reims added, “There’s stuff that Carlton Shaw [Gerald McRaney] doesn’t know. He was left out of the loop by his boss. So everybody is sort of thrown for a loop near the end of the season and readjusting to what things are, as opposed to what they thought they were.” Shaw’s boss, James Kelvin (Alan Dale from Lost) was just introduced.
Of the Undercovers cancellation, Reims told Zap2It, “I’m really proud of the show. I thought it looked amazing and I loved working with the cast and crew. We had a lot of fun.” He added, “The show turned out pretty much the way I envisioned, and when it didn’t, it was actually better.” Reims admitted that the show just couldn’t attract a big enough audience to survive.
Whether the final two installments are aired or not, the last episode of Undercovers will leave fans up in the air. Reims noted, “I think the episodes are getting stronger every week, and I’m sorry we have to stop at 13, because we had so many more stories to tell with these people. Not to mention we have a great mythology arc… and [it] ends with a cliffhanger.”
NBC hasn’t announced any plans to release the remaining episodes of Undercovers.
What do you think? Will NBC ever air the last two episodes? How would you like to see the series end?

Loved the show
Keep it
I really love this show! I can’t understand why it’s being
canceled. Hopefully another TV network or cable station will pick
it up. There are too many reality shows on TV – why aren’t they
being canceled?
This was an excellent show with so much potential. I do not
understand why networks expect shows to hit the ground running
everytime. Give people the chance to watch and then talk about it.
Forget the cast (that is awesome by the way), the venues, plots and
twist were great! So much to wok with and develpe. Hope another
cable channel picks it up and it does well. It will remain on my
DVR just in case it pops up in the furtre. Networks sucks. Thinks I
am going to stick with HBO.
It is a pity we dispose of anything that does not
immediately grab our attention. NBC cancelled Southland after just
6 episodes, i got to watch it online and i think it is phenomenally
well written, well acted show. I hope J.J. Abrams can work
something out for Undercovers. I also hope he can save Fringe, i
love that show too.
They should give this show another chance…I really looked forward to it each wk….I think it’s a mistake to cancel…but isn’t NBC famous for that…and Boris Kodjoe is the ultimate “eye candy”!!!!
I love this show and the actors are so good. They have awesome chemistry, including Hoyt who is so funny. NBC please reinstate “Undercovers”. Just change the timeslot. We need more good Friday and Saturday night T.V. NBC at least feed the masses the last two episodes. We’re starving out here. P.S. You are crazy to cancel anything J.J. Abrams does. He’s gold.
come on SNW if your gonna complain about a show ,at least knows what channel its on!! NBC,not CBS!
I loved Undercovers it was Alias meets Mr&Mrs Smith. This show would rock on TNT,TBS,USA, or FX but NBC which stands for No !@#$ channel is not getting any better since Seinfield left the network
This showed was aired in the wrong time slot. The show is good and I would hate it if CBS really cancels it or not air the last two. CBS tends to do thid alot. Why?
Love Undercovers!! I agree it was one of the best episodes yet. It was just getting really good, giving the back story of why they were brought back to the CIA. Hope they show the last two episodes
NBC PLEASE finish out the season!!!!! We admit, the middle of the season got boring (that whole Leo storyline was whack), but last night’s episode FINALLY recaptured our attention and we were looking forward to seeing more. The storyline was finally going somewhere. Hate to see it pick up momentum, then die. NBC your lack of promoting the re-air last night may be the reason for the low ratings, cuz that show had us wanting more.
I wish this show would continue on USA Network, since NBC can’t get the ratings for it. I definitely enjoyed the show, and think it could work on USA Network.
keep Undercovers on, you didn’t give it a chance. something else was always on in their time slot. change the day. friday’s have nothing worth watching and neither does sat and sun. sell it to another station if u don’t want to keep it in your lineup. this was a decent show but it always seem that trashy shows and stupid shows continue for years
debra . . . i totally agree w/ u, trashy shows always seem to hold its place on tv, simply b/c sex sells! this is not a completely grusom show and even had some parts that were funny . . . gosh i hope they won’t cancel it!
please someone HELP me understand how the ever so cheesy show “30 rock” and “outsourced” ranked LOWER than Undercovers and YET they are not being cancelled?!!!
i wish i knew how to personally contact the producers/writers and offer suggestions.
