ABC launched 11 new scripted TV series (not counting the Roseanne revival) during the regular portion of the 2017-18 season. They cancelled seven and renewed only four. That’s not a very good average. How will the alphabet network TV shows perform during the 2018-19 season? Stay tuned!

There’s lots of data that network execs look at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but ratings are the major ingredient. These charts will be updated daily, as new ratings data becomes available.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also view them here and here.
A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released. The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing), unless marked with an asterisk (*). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
Keep in mind that the demo numbers are typically what’s most important to advertisers. Therefore, that’s how the networks measure success. Advertisers pay more for ad time on a show that has a higher demo rating. Because older viewers don’t count? No, it’s because younger viewers watch less traditional TV and are harder to reach.
Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking. The networks take into account when shows air on Fridays and Saturdays, nights when TV viewership is lower.
What do you think? Are you surprised by any of the ratings? Which shows should be doing better? Which one do you think will be cancelled next?
Stop interputing our stations we pay for we r missing our shows we pay for we r going to tell an attorney u dont even go back and show what we miss. Ur very disrespectful we r complaining to everyone we can u haveno right putting on ur shows we oay dont interpupt anymore u bunch of morons hate it and u and spectrum grow up
Number 1 that rude Number 2 The good doctor is great show disrespect anyone my kind like him in complete different type of person please renewed many more seasons of possible.
Please renew “The Chew”…daytime tv is dismal without it!
Nobody can beat FRIENDS, CSI and the last one, THE BIG BANG THEORY, all of which the last one with juggernaut ratings, new series= sucks…..
Still frustrated about “The Kids are Alright”. It was fun and something different. And it had a lot more viewers than some of the others shows renewed.
Some other channel should pick it up…
Whiskey Cavalier is well worth keeping! A fun program, great action and enjoyable cast!
Shame on you ABC. What a disappointment. I really enjoyed THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT!! It reminded me so much of growing up in the 60s and 70s. That’s really how some things were back then. Made me laugh.
ABC Shame on you no wonder the pole shows that your network cancels the most viewer watched shows. The few I just don’t get are Splitting up & Whiskey Cavalier what you don’t listen to your viewers? Network Officials should read these viewers comments for a start! These 2 shows have a great cast they are FUNNY . My friends and I looked forward to watching these shows and talking about them. Whiskey Cavalier you just threw in towel? Yet you renewed shows that clearly ranked below your chart standings on watched shows Maybe you need to step up to… Read more »

Please renew American Housewife!! I love that show!!
Please renew American Housewife!!!! The best show. PLEASE!!!
ABC top show is “The Conners”?!? You had one of the top shows on TV and now you are reaping what you sow. Bye-bye ABC
ABC I only watch general hospital now until they bring Roseanne back I have nothing for them they are in my past and when I get soapnet I won’t ever be on ABC
FYi soap net is long gone.
I love Roseanne and the show really won’t be the same without her. I’m giving the new show a chance. The Cast is really good and if the writers are good the show could be a hit. The 1st 2 shows we’re pretty good. Don’t take your anger on the rest of the cast. Give them a chance.
Why would I give ungrateful-throw you under the bus people a chance. Most of them are terrible actors who only time on TV was Roseanne.
Please bring Roseanne back!!!!! Please.
Hopefully on FOX.
