TV show description:
This dramatic series revolves around a well-to-do Boston family. They are reeling in the wake of the chilling discovery that someone in their midst may be a serial killer.
Very successful patriarch Mitchell Hawthorne (Jamey Sheridan) runs a local concrete company and is married to Madeline (Virginia Madsen). They are both very conscious of society and the importance of maintaining appearances.
Following an accident at the construction company, evidence is revealed that links the family to an infamous murderer, dubbed the Silver Bells Killer.
Their Hawthorne’s eldest daughter, Alison Hawthorne-Price (Juliet Rylance), sits on the city council and has decided to run for mayor.
A successful syndicated cartoonist, brother Cam (Justin Chatwin) has a son named Jack (Gabriel Bateman) and they have distanced themselves from Cam’s troubled ex-wife, Sophie (Stephanie Leonidas).
Daughter Tessa (Megan Ketch) is married to a Boston police detective, Brady Ross (Elliot Knight). He’s investigating newly discovered evidence in the serial-murder case.
Prodigal son Garrett (Antony Starr) reappears after 14 years away. That’s about how long it’s been since the Silver Bells Killer last claimed a victim.
As shocking secrets from the past and present are revealed, the family’s mounting suspicion and paranoia threatens to tear them apart.
Episode #13 — Whistler’s Mother
With a killer taunting them, the Hawthornes look to the police for assistance, but Brady needs Garrett’s help to solve the case. Alison prepares for the election and is rocked by a shocking discovery about her family and the unexpected return of an old friend. Also, as the family gathers for Election Day, they attempt to identify the killer in their midst, but one of them won’t make it
First aired: September 7, 2016.
What do you think? Do you like the American Gothic TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
They need to bring this back
THIS WAS A GREAT PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER. I WISH THERE WAS ANOTHER SEASON.
This was my favorite show. I dropped chores to watch it and I still have been horribly upset that it never was renewed. Could have at least continued it onto Netflix!!! So many frustrations. I liked Braindead too, but AG was my show
I loved this series. Seems every tine a complex series comes on, it gets cancelled. Not enough sex and car wrecks for the average audience. It took some brains and paying attention to follow this complex series. Please bring it back.
YEAH ANOTHER SHOW-ANOTHER REASON TO SKIP NEW SERIES!
So im gonna need CBS to go ahead and bring this show back. I just found out about it and watched all 13 episodes in 3 days (i have a job and a kid or it wouldve been one day) and was going crazy trying to guess who it was. This show was very well thought out. So, yeah, i don’t care how you do it CBS, but figure it out and bring it back.
I love this show freeky
American Gothic was an amazing tv series. I would have love for it to continue one with the family. I watched every week couldn’t miss and episode. They shouldn’t have cancelled it. They need to bring it back.
Watch, you mark my thinly veiled words, the networks will do the same with “TABOO” – A well choreographed and written series and some rich punk son or daughter at the networks will pull his/her quill out and “X” it out, it he/she doesn’t get his name or girl friends name put in the script somehow ! These are the same characters that probably lock arms with the big name athelete’s and refuse to acknowledge the American Flag.
The networks build us up for a New Star Trek Discovery, show us 1 episode, now if you want to see the rest, pay us an additional $5.99 per mo ! BS, I can go without.
It was a fine show but where would they go in season 2? Start with a whole new family? Everything was wrapped up to my satisfaction
