FYI™ PREMIERES NEW ORIGINAL SERIES “BRIDE & PREJUDICE” TUESDAY, MARCH 15 AT 9PM ET/PT
SERIES FOLLOWS COUPLES HEADING TOWARDS MARRIAGE AS THEY STRUGGLE TO GAIN ACCEPTANCE FROM LOVED ONES WHO OPPOSE THEIR UNION
FROM THE PRODUCERS OF FYI’S HIT SERIES “MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT”
NEW YORK, February 11, 2016 – FYI’s new docuseries, “Bride & Prejudice,” follows three star-crossed couples who desperately want to get married, but whose prejudiced family members do not approve of their unions. Six episodes are set to premiere on Tuesday, March 15 at 9pm ET/PT, beginning with a two-hour season opener. The remaining hour-long episodes will premiere Tuesdays at 10pm ET/PT and culminate with a two-hour season finale.
In the two-hour premiere, viewers will meet three couples as they decide to make a life-long commitment and get married in the face of staunch opposition from their family and friends. From an interfaith couple in Baltimore, to a gay couple in Boston, and an interracial couple from Houston – these people are all striving to show doubtful loved ones how differences in race, religion and sexual preference do not affect their ability to love and be loved.
“FYI continues to pioneer brand-definitional relationship content,” said Gena McCarthy, Senior Vice President of Programming and Development for FYI. “Bride and Prejudice’ shares culturally diverse and emotionally powerful stories of real people, tackling real issues, like race, religion, and sexual orientation, on their path toward marriage and love.”
Bringing each other’s families together may be challenging, but for the couples featured in “Bride & Prejudice,” approval is necessary before walking down the aisle. As they announce their engagements and meet the in-laws, emotions run high. Viewers will see the difficulties each couple must deal with along the way. Will familial pressure impact their upcoming nuptials, or will love of a potential spouse outweigh love of family? Will they go through with the weddings if family members don’t ultimately approve? Against all odds and in the face of bigotry, these couples will aim to prove that their relationship has what it takes to build the foundation for a long lasting marriage.
“Bride & Prejudice” is produced by Kinetic Content for FYI. Chris Coelen, Katie Griffin and John Platt are executive producers for Kinetic Content. Gena McCarthy and James Bolosh serve as executive producers for FYI.

What do you think? Do you like the sound of the Bride & Prejudice TV show? Do you plan to watch the series premiere on FYI?
Eugene and Samantha are such awesome people. They have so impressed me. They are both products of discriminating communities that have been affected by the new generations that don’t care. Alex’s apology to Samantha was the bomb. This show is incredible. You took it on, and you did it.
Just watching the final show of Bride & Predjuice – not sure why Briana would be so wrapped up in why her cousin does not approve-tell the cousin to get lost. The cousin is nothing but a racist
As for Lou – think he gives gay people a bad name -not sure why anyone would want to marry this whiner – could not imagine introducing him to anyone
Samantha should have told Eugene it is me or the highway – go marry your brother if he is that important – that brother is nothing but a jerk
Ashlyn:
This woman tells the entire nation on television that she hates white people.. don’t like Adam “because he’s white”. I wonder….. after her repeated racism, over and over if … She were attacked by a white woman/group of white woman… Who would the nation call the racist/s???? I think history speaks for itself!!
Omg. I so want to beat Lou. He is so predjediced against his fiance family. He finds fault in everything they do. I can’t stand that whiner.
I can absolutely relate to these couples as it happened to me. My fiancé is Indian who was born and raised here in America and I am Filipino Born and raised here in America. We met after medical school and we’re together for over 6 years, were engaged and planned a wedding. His parents and sisters were so prejudice and were so fake the whole time. They didn’t care who he married as long as she was Indian. They didn’t care if he was in love as long as the girl he married was indian. They didn’t even let us… Read more »
I have watched the show of Bride & Prejudice, for the first time while on vacation and thought it was fairly good show. I find it upsetting that there are parents & family members who would use guilt and shame on their family member, and try to manipulate them to do what they want them to do. I found it disheartening to watch Eugene manipulate Samantha into becoming Jewish when his family left their native country because of religious persecution. It seems hypocritical.
These selfish relatives are so ridiculous! These marriages are not about you! Ashlyn… Grow up and support your cousin! This isn’t about you!!!!
I find this show very shocking, but not because of the relationships, but because of these, beyond selfish parents who are still living in the dark ages!
Ashlyn is beyond ridiculous with her bigoted views. If Briana calls off her wedding because of Ashlyn’s ignorance that would be very sad. She should not let someone who has all that hate and ignorance in their heart influence her relationship at all!!! I love seeing Adam’s dad just being himself, he is honest and that is something that you can do nothing except respect. If Samantha converts to Judaism just to please her husband’s parents that would be the equivalent of denying Christ. This is why we are not supposed to be unequally yoked. It is unfair of her… Read more »
I find it hard to believe that after 15 months of being together, Samantha and Eugene are JUST NOW talking about how religion is going to affect their relationship/marriage. And her cooking bacon…seriously?! No, that would not happen after being together for 15 months. That clearly only happened for the cameras. I find this show to be a bit fake.
I have watched the show of Bride & Prejudice, its a fairly good show. I find it upsetting that there are parents & family members who would use guilt and shame on their family member, and try to manipulate them to do what they want them to do. My son is gay and his father has no relationship with our son,it truely hurts our son. I on the other hand love my child and wish only the best for him. I don’t care who he loves as long as this person respects and treats my son well. To all parents who might… Read more »
“Small minded country folk”? Oh my. I won’t even begin to address all of the other quote gems. What will she say next week, and in the following weeks? Fear and ignorance leading straight to anger and intolerance, further feeding the former. Circular thinking. She needs a short circuit intervention to break her dangerous way of thinking and acting. As someone who is highly educated and works in the public eye I know that this is completely unacceptable behavior- I would lose my job if I were seen on tv, or anywhere else for that matter, espousing this type of… Read more »
Ashlyn is probably the most racist person I have ever seen. “Be with your own” – “I don’t like him because he’s white” – having never met him “small minded white people” – really?? YOU, Ashlyn are the small minded, racist!!!
I watched the premiere episode. Actually, I had to fast forward thru a lot of it. The families of these couples are so bigoted, and they are being rewarded with a show and a platform for this crap? Absolutely horrible. Their bigotry is their problem. And if the couples are so weak that their families disapproval will cause them to call off their weddings, I don’t want to know about it. I don’t need the suspense of will they or won’t they – just grow a pair and put the family in their places!
How come when a black woman Says you should be with your own That’s okay But if a white person said the same thing, All of a sudden they cry racism!!
She’s a disgusting racist!!! And I’m black! Two wrongs don’t make a right! She needs to cut that heffa loose.
GabA, I definitely agree to what you said Ashlyn is a racist!!!! She is really rude toward her beautiful cousin’s fiancé whether he’s white, black ,purple, green ,alien, whatever… you get the point!!!….that is the person that her cousin Brianna fell in love with….I honestly think that the cousin is jealous of her own cousin..What would happen if the cousin was singled out for being a overweight person, maybe unattractive, then maybe she would understand hate, racism, bigotry! Such a dirty word!!! If she knows how it is to be black and people treating her differently then WHY would you treat… Read more »
No! It is not ok! I am an African American woman and Ashlyn DOES NOT represent the way black people think. She is a disgrace to the race. Ashlyn is beyond childish and has a serious mental disorder. She ain’t my sista!
