What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, the Call Me Kat TV show is based on the British Miranda series. The U.S. sitcom stars Mayim Bialik, Swoosie Kurtz, Kyla Pratt, Cheyenne Jackson, Leslie Jordan, and Julian Gant. The story follows Kat (Bialik), a woman who struggles every day against society and her mother to prove that she can live a happy and fulfilling life — despite still being single at 39 years old. Kat’s mother, Sheila (Kurtz), views her daughter being single as her own personal failure. After leaving her job as a University of Louisville college professor, Kat spends the money her parents had set aside for her wedding to open a cat café. Working alongside Kat are Randi (Pratt) and Phil (Jordan). As Kat celebrates her independence, her single-forever plans begin to veer off-course. Her former crush and good friend, Max (Jackson), returns to town and takes a job as a bartender at the piano bar across the street and works with his friend, Carter (Gant).

Telly’s Take
Will FOX cancel or renew Call Me Kat for season two? Other than Last Man Standing (which is ending this year), the network doesn’t have any other live-action sitcoms. Typically, networks like to be able to pair new comedies with established ones so, unless FOX is abandoning that practice or doesn’t plan to introduce any new live-action comedies next season, I think this series has a good chance of being renewed. What do you think? Are you glad the Call Me Kat TV show has been renewed for a second season? How would you feel if FOX had cancelled this TV series, instead?
I REALLY hope they DON’T cancel Call Me Kat!!!!! I love all the actors in that show, and I love how they all interact with the audience at the end of each show…..I watched every episode of season 1.

Definitely renew! I’m addicted!
so am I!
It’s not to bad it needs more to keep people in to it
The show is almost a word-for-word ripoff of Miranda, and yet it still ceases to be anything but a terribly unfunny cringe-fest. Mayim Bialik and Cheyenne Jackson evoke less attraction as a couple than two opposite-poled magnets. The jokes fall flat so hard they practically echo, and Swoozie Kurtz has either overdone the plastic surgery, or she’s so embarrassed at appearing in this travesty of a show that she’s trying to move as few muscles as possible. The only saving grace is Leslie Jordan, who is just adorable and deserves a much better vehicle for his talents. Please, do everyone… Read more »
wow…really?why is it everyone has to compare 3 different shows that 1 person was in….it’s called “acting” for a reason…..you take on different roles
Watched it already two times through and through. It is fun and refreshing to see something new on the scene without violence , *** and the other usual building blocks of any series nowadays. While I’d love to see the actual cats to get a more prominent role in the episodes or to be more involved it is still a great show with a lot of potential and I see many people judge this show while forgetting it is a sitcom and shall be judged as one. Call Me Kat deserves a second and perhaps a third season as well.… Read more »
Unfortunately, although I love Mayim Bialik, this show is unwatchable.
