Yikes! Deadline reports Chicago PD star Jason Beghe was investigated by NBC for inappropriate behavior on set.
Beghe plays Sgt. Hank Voight on the police drama, which also stars Jon Seda, Jesse Lee Soffer, Patrick John Flueger, Marina Squerciati, Elias Koteas, LaRoyce Hawkins, Amy Morton, and Tracy Spiridakos.
According to Deadline, NBC and Wolf Entertainment investigated Beghe last year after several Chicago PD cast and crew members complained of inappropriate behavior (including sexual harassment) coming from the actor. Recently, the network released a statement about the incident, saying action was taken after the investigationNBC
When it was brought to our attention that there were concerns about inappropriate behavior on set, we promptly began an investigation in partnership with Human Resources and all parties involved. As a result of the investigation, we have already taken action, and it is a situation we continue to monitor very closely to ensure all of our employees feel safe and supported.”
Beghe too released a statement, apologizing for his behavior:
I am deeply sorry for my behavior, which I know has been hurtful to my friends and colleagues. I have struggled with anger issues for some time, and over the past year, I have been working with a coach to help me learn how to mitigate my temper. It’s an ongoing process, and it has been a humbling one.”
What do you think? Do you watch Chicago PD? Do you think Beghe should leave or continue on the show?
HE owned it and is taking steps to fix it. If he leaves the show, I’m sorry, but I think the show will loose a lot of viewers. He is a big part of the show.
Jason and Elias make this show. I watch it every week plus all reruns. People make mistakes. Jason apologized and that should be the end of it. Keep this show alive.
Chicago trilogy best shows on TV second too none. Jason Beghe is the glue that holds this show together.
I love this show
Jason Beghe apologized & is dealing with his problems. Everybody deserves asecond chance.
Everyone deserves a second chance. If we are honest, no one can cast the first stone. Jason has humbled himself in his apology and I believe he will rise above his struggle. He needs support along the way, as we all do. Please keep him and please renew this awesome show. Thank you
He’s going for help and said he was sorry. We love this show and he’s the one who makes it as good as it is. Am I alone in thinking some of this is warrented but I think some of this has been taken to far. Give him and the show a chance.
I love Jason Beghe he’s a real life character makes the series the best series on television the rest of the police and detective series are bogus Compared to Chicago PD
This is getting to much already leave the show alone he’s an excellent actor and is getting help we all make mistakes on one is perfect there are greater problems in this world he’s trying stop all this nonsense already I love this show there aren’t many good show’s left on TV now you want to take off another one soon there’s on reason to watch TV
Do not take him off the show, it would not be the same without him
People are not perfect which is not an excuse. But If he is willing to see that & change good for him!!
Without him the show would not last unfortunately!!
Leave him alone, let the show go on…..he’s a good actor, things will get better,we love the show
Great role and great actor! Flawed human being, aren’t we all?! Investigation, finding, apology and attempt at improving, why did we need more?
No show without him, but what he did was inexcusable.
What did he do?
no he shouldnt he said sorry and he’s working on it
he should be let go
if you let go every actor that said something they taken a sexual harassment there be no male actors left and no man will ever get a date agian .If you don’t like being told you have nice a__ than whee baggy dress etc etc.the all has gotten old this PC culture has gotten way out of hand in the last 25 years. It time to end the PC culture NOW
We all have issues. He’s a great actor. His character has anger issues. It’s got to be tough playing Voight. Without him the show wouldn’t be aa good. This reminds me of the actor Thomas Gibson’s departure from Criminal Minds. We quit watching the show after that because it wasn’t the same. The difference is Gibson did not make an attempt to work on his anger issues like Jason is. I hope things improve.
It’s not PC culture, you are blaming the women when you should be telling the men to change their behaviour.
