TV show description:
A psychological crime and horror series, the Clarice TV show was created by Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet and is based on The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris.
The series is a deep dive into the untold personal story of FBI Agent Clarice Starling (Breeds) as she returns to the field in 1993, one year after the hunt for serial killer Buffalo Bill (Simon Northwood) and her run-in with cannibalistic serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
Brilliant and vulnerable, Clarice’s bravery gives her an inner light that draws monsters and madmen to her. However, her complex psychological makeup — which comes from a challenging childhood — empowers her to begin to find her voice while working in a man’s world. It also helps her begin to escape the family secrets that have haunted her throughout her life.
Clarice works with Shaan Tripathi (Penn), an agent with a Ph.D. in library science with expertise in all things archival; Paul Krendler (Cudlitz), the leader of the Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (VICAP) Fly Team and a gifted investigator for the Department of Justice; Murray Clarke (Sandow) comes from a law enforcement family and is a little slow around the office but he’s one of your best friends in the field; Tomas Esquivel (de Oliveira) is a former counter-sniper during Operation Desert Storm and belies the FBI needs to move past its “old school” mentality; and Ardelia Mapp (Tyler), Clarice’s roommate at the FBI Academy who has landed at the Department of Justice where she is an Assistant U.S. Attorney.
Catherine Martin (Carpenter) was saved by Clarice in Buffalo Bill’s basement. Her mother is Ruth Martin (Jayne Atkinson), the newly appointed attorney general.
Episode #13 — Family is Freedom
On the heels of ViCAP uncovering Alastor’s secrets, Clarice is imprisoned in an animal testing facility where she finds trafficked women being held captive. ViCAP and Ardelia team up to locate Clarice as she attempts to break from her captors in a race to rescue the other women.
First aired: June 24, 2021.
What do you think? Do you like the Clarice TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
For some reason, well done shows like Clarice get cancelled. Evidently TV exec’s think all of America can’t understand anything other than sit-com’s or reality shows.
More Clarice!!!!!! Great first season… can’t stop there!!
The networks’ greed is only exceeded by their stupidity. If shows are not being sold to Paramount Plus such as “Seal Team” in its 5th season or “Evil,” where we have to pay additional money to watch them; I’m not, they are canceled like “Good Girls!” Furthermore, “Clarice” is likely to go to Paramount Plus! SICKENING
Looked forward to the suspense each week. Would really miss it.
Clarice and blue Bloods are the only series I watch each week. I’ll miss Blue Bloods but hope that Clarice will be renewed for years to come.
Best new show on TV this Season. I’ll be so disappointed if it’s not renewed.
This show is awesome. Such insight. We have become used to cars being blown up or shootings every 5 min. So its drama packed not actioned packed. Please keep this show on the air. Great writing, along with some outstanding acting.
I loved ‘Silence Of The Lambs’ from episode 1 my friend and I have been hooked ,. This show MUST be renewed. We need season 2 CBS.
renewed – love the show. I didn’t realize the connection to “Silence of the Lambs” until mid-way through, thank heavens, this might have prejudiced me against watching it. The show is refreshing!
I did not watch this show from the beginning. Was afraid it would be too morbid like “Silence of the Lambs” but still recorded it. Binge watched it last night & now I am hooked! Keep it going. One of the BEST shows on TV right now!
Need season 2 and to stay on CBS pleeease!
Certainly Clarice should be renewed and remain on the CBS Broadcast line-up and not shipped off to subscription streaming service like did Seal Team and Evil. CBS hasn’t got enough good shows to be charging $$$ for them on a mediocre subscription service.
Love this show. Please renew it.
Re: Clarice
I’ve watched all 5 episodes and I like the show a lot.
If the writing holds up I would watch it for a long time.
I watched the first episode so far and thought it was pretty good. It started out being a bit boring in the first half but by the end of the program it was pretty good. Hopefully the rest of the episodes will be a lot better and more exciting!
