Is Sheriff Hollister up to the job in the first season of the Deputy TV show on FOX? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Deputy is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the first season episodes of Deputy here. *Status update below.
A FOX crime drama, Deputy was created by Will Beall and stars Stephen Dorff, Yara Martinez, Brian Van Holt, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Shane Paul McGhie, and Mark Moses. The show follows an ensemble of ambitious and complicated people who won’t rest until justice is served. The story begins when the elected Sheriff of LA County dies and an arcane rule in the county charter suddenly thrusts the most unlikely man into the job. A true “white hat”, Bill Hollister (Dorff) is a fifth-generation lawman and is only interested in justice. His close team includes Deputy Cade Ward (Van Holt), Deputy Brianna Bishop (Taylor-Klaus), and Deputy Joseph Harris (McGhie). Hollister frequently butts heads with Doctor Paula Reyes (Martinez), chief trauma surgeon of LA County General Hospital and also, Hollister’s wife.
What do you think? Which season one episodes of the Deputy TV series do you rate as wonderful, terrible, or somewhere between? Do you think that Deputy should be cancelled or renewed for a second season on FOX? Don’t forget to vote, and share your thoughts, below.
*4/3/20 update: FOX has cancelled the Deputy TV series after one season.
So is this show a drama or science fiction? The HERO is an officer of the law, that made a pledge to uphold it and that two minutes into the episode says… TO HELL WITH LAWS I DO NOT LIKE. Really?
This was the fastest new series that made me change the channel and forget about it.
Is a show I know, but what example is giving to the younger generations, ignore the law, do as you please, cops do it…. come on!
Fox also jumping into the PC and political message bandwagon, NO THANKS!
Love this show!!! Hella fun! I find myself cheering and ohhhhhhhh noing!!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL!! I don’t get the bad reviews!! This has Very talented co-stars!!
This show is just simply stupid. As a 34 year police officer I can say that the writing is just stupid. This show makes it out the the new sheriff is King and he can do whatever he wants. It also makes ICE look like they are just randomly grabbing people for no reason at all when they are actually illegally here. The stupid gay woman who is the Kings new driver is also such a stupid role and not real at all. Nothing about this show is real at all. This show is a disgrace to all police officers.
Exactly! Thank you! Complete garbage!
As a retired Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff I was very interested in the show. It is TERRIBLE. Just Hollywood and not near the real thing. It shouldn’t last through the season. The writers and producers should be fired.
It’s fiction, not reality. Sorry it disappoints you but it is a fun show as well.
That’s the good thing about the show… not being real. In television most shows don’t even come close to being the real thing. It’s a drama not a documentary. But I do understand your point knowing what it is like to be a Sheriff.
I love the show and hope the network keeps it.
I was looking forward to this show, but I changed the channel as soon as the main character opened his mouth and delivered a political diatribe. Isn’t the real world one deputy believing that she should uphold the law while the politicians try to get around it? Why Hollywood is fine losing 50% of their viewing audience is beyond me. If I watched it long enough to see who sponsored the show, I’d boycott them. Disappointed.
What a joke! Very disappointing and a waste of time. I was hoping for a serious and well written script, it was neither. How this show got the green light is baffling!
Good show hope it gets renewed
i was dome after first 10minutes
I love Stephen Dorff on anything and I already love this show. If it does not get renewed I’m going on strike. Please please renew
Too political! Ugh!
Lost me in the first 5 minutes.
Wanted to love it, but can’t stand Hollywood’s leftist elite trying to tell me a deputy is supposed to protect law breakers against law enforcement officers!
Do your job deputy.
Stop shoving political B.S. down my throat!
Agreed!
I was so excited about this show I DVR’ed it so I wouldn’t miss one. I was looking forward to a crime drama with a little Western flare. A get away from the politics of the day…. 1 minute in and I get the politics of the day shoved right down my throat. It was a pain getting it off my DVR. I’m done.
I lost interest when he said he didn’t “care where they came from.” The stopped the raid. Sorry, I do care. Coming here Illegally is still a crime. And he’s the guy in charge now? What an insult to legal entry people.
SO FAR – REALLY GOOD
Love this new Fox show!
