The Carringtons and Colbys survive to fight another day. Despite racking up some of The CW’s poorest ratings, the Dynasty TV show reboot has been renewed for a second season. Whether or not they can build up the audience in season two remains to be seen.
A CW soap opera, Dynasty stars Grant Show, Alan Dale, Elizabeth Gillies, Nathalie Kelley, James Mackay, Sam Adegoke, Robert Christopher Riley, Rafael de la Fuente, Brianna Brown, and Nick Wechsler. The drama centers on the wealthy Carrington family and the energy empire they must defend against the Colbys and other adversaries.

The CW issued early renewals for a total of ten shows, today: Arrow, season seven; Black Lightning, season two; Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, season four; DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, season four; Dynasty, season two; The Flash, season five; Jane The Virgin, season five; Riverdale, season three; Supergirl, season four; and Supernatural, season 14. FOR 2018-19 SEASON
Network Gives Early Renewals for Next Season to “Arrow,” “Black Lightning,”
“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Dynasty,” “The Flash,”
“Jane The Virgin,” “Riverdale,” “Supergirl” and “Supernatural”
April 2, 2018 (Burbank, CA) — The CW Network has given early renewals to ten of its primetime series for the 2018-2019 season, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.
“As The CW expands to a six-night, Sunday through Friday schedule next season, we are proud to have such a deep bench of great returning series for 2018-19. By picking these ten series up for next season, we have a terrific selection of programming to choose from when we set our fall schedule in May, with more still to come,” said Pedowitz. “And I’m especially happy that we’ll continue to work with the incredibly talented casts, producers, and writers who create the series our fans are so passionate about.”
The series being ordered for the 2018-2019 season include second seasons of the electrifying freshman hit BLACK LIGHTNING and DYNASTY, which recently saw the debut of Nicollette Sheridan as Alexis Carrington, as well as new seasons of ARROW (Season 7), CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND (Season 4), DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (Season 4), THE FLASH (Season 5), JANE THE VIRGIN (Season 5), RIVERDALE (Season 3), SUPERGIRL (Season 4), and SUPERNATURAL (Season 14). Specific premiere dates for each series will be announced at a later time.
The CW also recently announced it would expand its primetime schedule to six nights, Sunday-Friday (8:00-10:00pm ET/PT), beginning in October 2018.

Great Dynasty finale! Cat fights, long-lost siblings, gunshots, and a cliffhanger with multiple folks caught in a burning building…. Just like the good ol original Dynasty days! Nicolette Sheridan has been a great addition as Alexis and a worthy adversary to Blake/Grant Snow. Love the new Sammy Jo, Fallon, Culhane, Anders, Crystal, Steven…. everyone is having fun with this over the top entertaining soap. But come on CW, give this show a fighting chance and move it to a different night other than Friday. I absolutely love dynasty. I would never want to see it get canceled. Tonight was the season finale and I am so disappointed as I look forward to watching it every Friday night. I love the cast and the clothes are absolutely fabulous. I would hate if they cancelled the series as I cannot wait for it to resume.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Dynasty…I cant get enough! Never saw the original, but this one is AMAZING!!! So very excited to see it was renewed. Maybe move to a better day/time slot to increase ratings & advertise it because it only takes one episode to get hooked. I would know…i accidentially stumbled upon it mid-season & have been a devoted faithful viewer ever since. I watch it when originally aires but still have it set to record, just in case.
It can’t top the original DYNASTY….but, I must say its pretty good….it has my interest….now that Nicolette Sheriden has joined the cast as a Alexis, thing might just heat up…She may be able to save the show…..but one thing I suggest is MOVE the show to a better night….Fridays to me are where show go to DIE!! Now that the CW is expanding to 6 nights, FIND A BETTER TIME SLOT!!!
I really love the new dynasty. I watched the original show with my Gramma and Aunts when I was little every week and just can’t get enough of this updated version. Would love to see it stick around long term. With many of my other long term cw shows.
I absolutely love Dynasty and am thrilled it has been renewed for a second season!
Loving the show. As a hard core original fan the little nods to the original are subtle but delightful. Fallon is stand out. I can now see how the character was originally envisaged. Seeing steven out and proud now all we need is Adam and the poisoned paint. For one i would love it if krystal became the new nemesis nice twist. Roll on season 2.
I am not a soap opera fan, but i totally enjoy the feud and the power hungry individuals.
I absolutely love the show and I am excited it has been renewed for another season. The show would probably have a larger audience if moved to earlier in the week (too many people go out on fridays)

I love this show. So many people say the show is not good comparing with the old one but I’ve not seen the old one. So i dont have any background and in my opinion u need to be open for any change in tv show maybe the new style will be better. I hope they continue the show
I am truly enjoying the show. The actress that plays Fallon has been key to my feels for the show. She to me is the ROCK for the show!
