Looks like AMC is leaving the kitchen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has cancelled Feed the Beast after only one season.
The drama starred David Schwimmer and Jim Sturgess as two childhood best friends who try to open an upscale restaurant in the Bronx. The cast also included Lorenza Izzo, John Doman, Elijah Jacob, Michael Gladis, and Christine Adams.
Even for a cable series, Feed the Beast performed poorly in the ratings. Season one received an average of only .13 in the 18-49 demo and 447,000 viewers.
From AMC:
We have great respect and admiration for the entire team associated with Feed the Beast, starting with [showrunner] Clyde Phillips, [stars] David Schwimmer, Jim Sturgess and our studio partner, Lionsgate. We are thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with them and appreciative of their talents, dedication and care. Unfortunately, the show simply didn’t achieve the results needed to move forward with a second season.”
What do you think? Do you see Feed the Beast? Are you sad or surprised the show was cancelled?
Neflex, hope u check on these comments an consider picking up Feed The Beast in a year AMC will regret cancelling this show
I can’t not believe that this series will not be picked up for additional seasons, Very disappointed. Makes me re think watching any AMC shows. Think about how many seasons it took, as example, Beverly Hills 90210 to build ratings, then, think about how long it was on air after it was given a chance. Your really not thinking very well AMC, again, very disappointed in you.
We’re so disappointed! Liked that show a lot!!!
Noooooo I love this show!!!
absolutely sad and totally upset over the cancellation of feed the beast. how can a network just leave us hangin like that, so many things happened on the last show i was sure i’d find the answers to the next season.i mean with a cliff hanger like that who wouldn’t come back to see what happened? how can you keep garbage on like any of those walking dead shows but not at least give a good show like this one more season so we can have some answers to all the questions we have about what happened to everyone, seriously thats… Read more »
This is a top class show! I can’t understand how shows like Mistresses or crappy reality shows are on & Feed the Beast is canceled. Please reconsider bringing this back,
Please reconsider. Many shows take time to catch on. We loved it and are invested in the characters and so are everyone we shared the show with. PLEASE, give it another season, it truly is a great show with terrific acting. We are so disappointed by this news! 🙁
Please don’t cancel the show. It is a good show and not alot of people knew about but it is a good show. I really liked it alot.
WE WANT SEASON TWO OF FEED THE BEAST!!!
this is an excellent show. my wife and I love it. good drama, nice twists, either bring it back or sell it to Netflix PLEASE
What a good suggestion to sell it to Netflix, Wish I’d had thought of that when posting my comment. Jim Sturgress has become a very good actor over the years, i don’t think AMC has truly thought this decision completely out
I’m not sure if they’re counting views on their website, but I’m somewhat disappointed. FOX cancelled “Family Guy” twice before bringing it back twice due to DVD sales.
Not only that, but this show only ran (presumably) for two series originally anyway. Why not just let it run its course, assuming they stayed somewhat true to the events in the original? It would finish off in its second series and then they could fit in a new show.
NETFLIX PLEASE PICK THIS UP!
I am totally heartbroken! I don’t know what TV has gotten to when a series is cancelled after only one season. I guess it is all about the almighty dollar and not giving something a chance. So many of my favorite shows have gone wayside to no respect for those of us that do like them. This was the only show that I watched n AMC so now I won’t be watching ANYTHING on AMC!!!!!!
NOOOOOOOOOOO !!! Dammit – WHY ??? I absolutely LOVED this show – I thought AMC was better than this – to cancel this show after only one season? I have no words for my extreme disappointment…..
CANCELLED, CANCELLED, CANCELLED! The same ratings as Wynonna Earp on SYFY, but AMC has higher standards.
