Grimm aired its series finale at the end of March, and recently executive producers David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf spoke with Deadline about a possible future for the NBC TV show.
The show follows Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), a homicide detective who fights mythological forces. The cast also includes Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Bitsie Tulloch, Reggie Lee, Sasha Roiz, Bree Turner, and Claire Coffee.
In the interview, Kouf said they’d be open to a Grimm spin-off but the series ending was meant to have closure:
We just leave all our options open. You just never know. … It seemed like a very fairytale ending to the show. We really wanted to close the book on it.”
When asked about the possible future for Nick and Juliette, Greenwalt said the ending they got was more realistic:
There are a lot of people who have a lot of opinions about that on both sides of that question. But I think that there was such a beautiful speech in the third to last episode in which Eve/Juliette says, “I wouldn’t go back if I could … We’ve all grown, we’re all different now than we were.” So I think that’s more realistic.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Grimm? Would you watch a spin-off?
Please do the spinoff. My wife and I loved that show.
Pretty please with a cherry on top make a spin off of Grimm, I love that show so much I’ve started watching all the seasons over agin for the second time in a row!
Yes I would love to see a spinoff of Grimm. I was sad when the series ended.
Really miss this show! The Wesen could be endless… please spin off. I’ve watched the whole six series twice. My husband and I loved it. Thank you. Missing Monroe!
I personally need a spin off. My wife is extremely grumpy and difficult to live with since the finale.
Actually, we both loved the stories, Character development, the lore and the humour. Miss it sorely.
I liked the series from the start and would like to see it either continue or have a spinoff
I am very hopeful that there is more from Stephen Carpenter, David Greenwalt, and Jim Kouf … in their bag of magic to produce more in turn of a Grimm spin-off or a new “fairytale-like” show that would be comparable. It makes sense to do so in capitalizing the market share audience they have left captive in preponderance of … there has got to be more?!
Enjoy grimm it was amazing there as to be a spinoff it can’t just finish were it did would be great if Kelly Diana and the triplets and trubel carried on were it was left fingers crossed there will be a spinoff
It killed me when Grimm ended. Yes, the writers did an amazing job on the finale. I could not dream of a better ending (if it HAD to end). But that being said. Grimm spinoff – SIGN me UP! Kelly, Diana, the triplets. Maybe a TRubel offspring. HELL YES!!
I would love for the show to carry on absolutely loved it and don’t understand why it’s stopped. The characters are amazing and Munrow is so lovable please bring back.
it would be wonderful to do a spin off of grimm with the adult Kelly and the adult Dianne with the original cast doing cameo roles or have them come back period
