If you were waiting anxiously to find out the identity of the mysterious Magic Man on ABC’s Happy Town, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.
Happy Town revolves around a bunch of strange disappearances and murders in a small town. The large cast includes Sam Neill, M.C. Gainey, Geoff Stults, Lauren German, Amy Acker, Steven Weber, Ben Schnetzer, Sarah Gadon, Jay Paulson, and Robert Wisdom.
After a disappointing start in the ratings, Happy Town was pulled off the airwaves for much of May. Before the show could return on June 2nd, ABC officially cancelled the series. Only eight episodes have been filmed but at least answers to some of the TV show’s mysteries will be revealed by the end.
Unfortunately, ABC has pulled the show off the air once again. Happy Town was scheduled to take next Wednesday off but return for June 30th and July 7th with the last installments. The network has decided, likely because Happy Town’s ratings have gotten really bad, to replace them with repeats of Castle.
It’s likely that ABC will get around to airing the last two episodes of Happy Town on a Saturday night sometime this summer. It won’t be soon though. On July 3rd, they’ll burn off the last episodes of the forgotten. On July 10th, the network’s airing the extra two episodes of Eastwick. Could Happy Town return on July 17th? Another mystery that we’ll have to wait to have solved.
What do you think? Are you upset that ABC has pulled the last two episodes of Happy Town? Do you think they’ll ever air?

Im so sick of investing time into a show just to have it cancelled. These networks are run by idiots who think only idiots watch tv. If you have to pay attention and give your brain a work out the show gets cancelled. They would rather fill our evenings with stupid reality shows. It could not have been because it was too complicated because I gave up on Lost more than once. I always came back but all the questions with so few answers pissed me off. Now, finally a show with awesome actors I mean Sam Neil…does it get… Read more »
I really liked Happy Town…I’m totally bummed. I was wondering where they were going but I guess I’ll never know
I am very disappointed with the news of the cancelation of this show. I don’t think the network gave it enough time to grow. They also didn’t do a bang up job promoting it either. I would really like for the network to release all of this series that has been filmed. So for those whom enjoyed it can watch it. possibly have them rerunned and get the feed back again. I don’t know but this realy sucks.
I need to know what happens in HAPPY YOWN!!!!!!!!
The dissappointment and frustration of immersing yourself in a story line and its characters only for it to be flippantly canceled, seems very disrespectful to your viewers. Can you imagine reading a fabulous book half way through and then being told by the author that he was bored by the project because it didn’t seem like he would make that much money from it, so he lost interest in finishing his story? First Flashfoward now this-Seems like a real deterrent to ever watching shows of this kind again!
I think abc has poor producing ethics. I am so tired of watching a new series only to have it taken from me after I was involved with the show and looking forward to each episode with the hopes of finding answers by the finale, but I am again dissappointed. First Flashforward now Happy Town
I’m a little pissed off and still waiting to see what happens next. They pulled the show because of poor ratings, what about the rest of us who watched faithfully every week???
I will admit that the show had a very slow start, but personally I thought that the show was improving and then poof…gone. That sucks that we will never know the answers.
Summer tv has really gotten horrible. I would much rather see new episodes of Happy Town than tired repeats of Castle! I have to agree with Michele on the summer thrillers like Persons Unknown and Harpers Island.
I’m pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am never ever going to watch another show that ABC puts on in the summer. Never!!! It was a good show and maybe if they advertised more, more people would have watched. I think the decision sucks. Have I made mysel clear.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is to all networks…I know it’s all about “numbers” for you people but if you want us to really get involved in a show just promise to put the remaining episodes online. Finish a freakin season already! If we know we will be able to at least see an end to the season we won’t be so hesitant to get invested in a new show. The way things are going now, we don’t start watching anything until it’s in it’s second season.
I am so pissed off! I can’t believe they canceled Happy Town now they aren’t going to show us the last episode….That was the best show ever! I will never watch another show
on ABC again! I am done….Their will never be a good show like Happy Town EVER!!!!!
I AM VERY UPSET I LOVED THE SHOW I NEED TO KNOW WHO THE MAGIC MAN IS
watch the last 2 on hulu.com!!
they aren’t on hulu 🙁
The reason ratings are so poor for “serial” type programs like this is staring us right in the face. People, myself included, are reluctant to get wrapped up a a continuous saga for fear of it being cancelled mid-stream. I’ve been burned too many times before. I now record them – and if they reach a conclusion, I watch them. I have the six episodes that aired, recorded. Glad I didn’t waste any time watching them. I feel the same way about NBC’s “Persons Unknown”. Let’s see how that one plays out.
Good point Chuck! Maybe it is time for me to fire up the DVR and only watch it if the whole thing has aired. No more time wasted!
thats kind of stupid to play all of the other episodes and cancel the end. i think there is more to it than what they are saying.
I can’t believe these networks!! Why couldn’t they have made this a summer thriller like they are doing with “Persons Unknown” and like they did with last year’s thriller “Harpers Island”. How can they just leave us hanging like this . . . to cruel .
