Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon the other night to promote their new movie, The Muppets. They also ended up playing the classic Password game show with comic actor Martin Short and the former lead vocalist for R.E.M., Michael Stipe.
While Kermit was at Rockefeller Center, he took a few minutes to “revisit” the famous Muppet pipes.
As you may recall, these are the water pipes that Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Don Sahlin, and Jerry Juhl “vandalized” while waiting to appear on Tonight Starring Jack Paar. They were told that their artwork would be quickly removed but it’s survived and now, 47 years later, is part of the official NBC studio tour.
