Fans who are clamoring for a fifth season of the Luther TV series on BBC America and BBC One can get in line behind the man himself. While promoting Star Trek Beyond, Luther star Idris Elba told ITV‘s This Morning correspondent, Alison Hammond, that he would like to make another series (season) of Luther.

When asked by Hammond if they will be bringing Luther back, Elba said, “I’d like to, you know. I’d like to. The audience loved John Luther and I don’t think the story’s over yet.” When Hammond followed up on rumors of a Luther feature film, Elba replied, “It’s on the wish list, you know. I’ve always maintained John Luther could transfer really well to a film. And we haven’t quite got there yet, but yeah man, it could happen.”

The fourth season of the Luther TV series aired on BBC America, on December 17, 2015. Per the BBC, in it, Detective Chief Inspector John Luther “[learns] the hard way; he may never be able to walk away from capturing the tormented psychopaths that lurk the streets of London.” There was about a year and a half gap between Luther seasons three and four, so Luther season five could still be a while off.
