What’s next for Magnum PI? CBS just announced the TV show has begun shooting season two.
A reboot of the ’80s series, the crime drama centers on former Navy SEAL Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez), who is back from Afghanistan and working as a private investigator. The cast also includes Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Tim Kang, and Amy Hill.
Season two of Magnum PI premieres on CBS on September 27th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

MAGNUM P.I. kicked off its second season production in Honolulu today with a traditional Hawaiian blessing in honor of its host Hawaiian culture. Series stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Tim Kang and Amy Hill, as well as the producers and the entire MAGNUM P.I. crew, participated. Kahu (Officiant) Kordell Kekoa officiated the ceremony, which included traditional royal maile leis, Oli Aloha (welcoming chant), and Pule Ho’oku’u (closing prayer). In honor of the show’s second season, the ceremony centered around the connections we make by using two traditional maile leis to symbolize how the production, its island home and the viewers create a “gift.”
The second season of MAGNUM P.I. premieres Monday, Sept. 27 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.”

Sorry but Magnum is NOT convincing as a former Seal. Add to that the terrible dialogue bblbbbubb diction of “Higgins”! NEITHER OF THEM IS CONVINCING AS PHYSICALLY TOUGH ENOUGH TO TAKE ON BAD GUYS. No amount of sun glasses and Ferraris added to preposterously inept scripts makes it good!
This remake of magnum pi is one of the best t v shows, in my opinion. Jay Hernandez is not Tom Selleck, nor should he be. And Higgins being a woman, and a good looking one too, adds a completely fresh look for the show. I enjoyed season one and am looking forward to season two.

Love love love. Love this remake Magnum PI. Thumbs up!! Love action, intelligence, suspense, and especially actors- attractive smart fascinating actors! Love this show MUCH better as old Magnum PI. This new show hits close to home- our day vets, Mi6, love, loyalty, suspense!

Terrific show! Love the characters, the incredibly beautiful Hawaiian scenery, and of course the Ferrari! Please keep this show going for at least ten years!

I love the new Magnum PI. Magnum and Higgins are both engaging and play off of each other well. Rick and TC are great also. I like how there is always a good message within each episode. I did enjoy watching the original Magnum PI with Tom Selleck however this is a very entertaining reboot of the original Magnum PI.
Another unoriginal series rebooted and recasted with less talented actors and writers. Original series (Tom Selleck 6’4″) had a realistic and fun shows, with good acting and writing.
Fast forward to the remake (Jay Hernandez 5’8″). Every time I’ve tried to watch it I start laughing. He’s just NOT believable playing Magnum P.I.
Completely agreed. Even the side kicks are boring including the ‘female’ Higgins. Only interesting part is the dogs!!

YES! We watch it anyway for the scenery cause we used to live there TWICE! (As a civilian person who once drank some beers and rubbed elbows with REAL SEALS and FIRST CLASS NAVY DIVERS AND OTHERS I FIND THIS WEENIE MAGUUM INSULTING)
